![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Been staying inside the Barricades for the past week. The real story about what has been happening for the last week is vastly different to the story being told in the media. Every morning I come back to my room at around 7am to upload pictures, have a quick kip and a shower before heading back and when I read the reports about molotov cocktails etc being thrown from inside the barricades it makes me laugh. Most of these events that are being reported are utter bullshit. I have been watching everything with my own eyes and the reds have shown a hell of a lot of restraint under constant intimidation from the phsycho's, The Army at one point but after the three deadlines they set to come in and take the Silom part in the early hours of Thursday passed. They have been out of the equation. That night was a long one though. After the alleged M79 grenade attacks(it is even ridiculous writing this down), the people were well aware of what the the possibilities were and the military announced they were coming in at 3am. I have never experienced anything like that in my life. Standing there with everyone making sure you had masks, water, spare water, medical girls going around giving out things, everyone hugging, shaking hands, sharing ciggarettes and food. These people really are amazing. Terrorists my fucking arse. If you read this Butterfly I also find your ''cattle'' remark very offensive. I swear that most of the people in here waiting to be tear gassed and possibly slaughtered are twice the person that you could ever possibly be. Once that deadline passed, party time again. then another anouncement for 4am.....same shit and then 5am.....well, you can guess the rest. The police last night were the only ones there. And about 100 of those strange looking people who are full of so much hate. It is hard to explain what is becomes like in the early hours of the morning. First you get the helicopters coming in regularly. First they were coming in with their light on, now they cut the lights. They can still be spotted though and then fireworks are shot in their direction and everyone starts to party. Then the police are coming and going all night long. Starting move from many different directions and then retreating. It is one big game trying to wear the protestors down. The announcement about the army having snipers has had one of the biggest affects on people. They have seen their mates heads blown apart and are well aware of what could seriously happen at any time here. All through the night there are people being spotted in the surrounding buildings and being pointed out with lasers. They are letting themselves be seen. Sometimes a large number of people are being seen entering buildings together and some time later the heads start popping up everywhere. This goes on all through the night. Seeing the resolve and determination on these people and the friendliness they are displaying to everyone, tourists, journalists, needs to be seen to be believed. These are the proper Thai people. The reason why many of us like the place when we come here the first time and keep coming back. I think it is possible to forget in Bangkok sometimes what genuine Thai friendship is like. Back to the bombs. Just go to where the bombs hit and check out the shot that wound have to be made if it came from behind the Rama 4 statue. That is without the fact that it would also have to have been silent and invisible to everyone apart from the people who said it came from behind Rama4. I was at the bomb site just after the ambulances had left. Talking to loads of the freelance journos there. Nobody could believe it when they anounced the figure of dead and wounded. There were 12 ambulances, one person in each, but some of the people being taken in were smiling at the cameras and waving their little flags. I have some pictures of the damage to the bank. Not much power on grenades anymore if this is all they do. Everyone at the scene seemed to think that something was dropped from above. The only damage to the building was some shrapnel high up on the wall whick looked like something had exploded upwards. I have hundreds of photos beginning from Monday. If anyone would like to see them they are on a facebook account, send me a message and I will add you. Welcome to Facebook | Facebook

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hang on a sec. I am changing facebook to be able to be viewed by everyone and I will post all the links up. Kiss my big hairy Welsh arse Flutterby I am not asking you to believe me, I really do not give a shite. People can make their own judgements based on what they believe is the truth or now. Some people unfortunately don't have the capacity to understand that what they hear from certain media sources might not be the truth. Let the dead bury themselves. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for your post. You confirm the information gathered from international media. Courage and restraint. That bullshit about grenades coming from Lumpini is just ridiculous. All the youtube and fotos showing people looking up for the source and soldiers pointing their weapons to the highrises and at the same time Suthep without any time for investigation announces they came from Lumpini. And later he announces he found evidence which is obviously not true. Astonishing that somebody like StrontiumDog immediately jumps on as if it were facts. Very disappointing as he is a quite intelligent and informed poster on many issues. |

Last night the numbers were still huge. I would estimate around 70 - 80 000 inside the whole place. It really is massive now and the numbers are not dropping yet. Many people are coming in for the evening though and are leaving around 1 or 2am. The mood there is still good but last night the tiredness was showing on people. I am knackered myself to be honest.

You would be suprised how many us there are inside the compound. Many people come for a look at both sides and always end up staying and partying inside the barrier as they feel safer. Many of the freelance photographers I speak to prefer to be inside with the reds, especially when they all were getting hit with bottles and bricks being thrown in their direction on Wednesday night.
