It is a myth that top cameras will produce top pics out of the box, you do need to know how to use them, in fact they can produce much more shit when handled wrongly.

    I'm still learning.
I also use all Canon L gear these days and have had many top cameras in the past - the real quality lies in the ability of the photographer to capture the pathos, action etc and to compose the picture as a work of art.
Seen this done with a throwaway packet cam as well as the best of Haselblad pro gear.

Tells me monks cannot go to this type of political gathering ?
Indeed, this argument was made by the military junta in Myanmar when the monks were protesting there. It is not surprising that the military junta-created Abhisit government would be resurrecting these prohibitions in Thailand.

I agree. I have the 5D Mark 1, which usually produces as good a result as the 1Ds III that I mainly use. The L Series lenses are pretty unbeatable, and for me justify their expense over the long term.

In Thailand I shoot everything at 1 Stop below what the camera tells me.

I shoot only RAW unless I'm shooting sport.

It should have an automatic mode.

I have the last Minolta before they sold out to SONY, so the same line of cameras. Putting it on automatic and never touching it should do it for a start.
But then learning how to use it can improve the pictures. I admit to not really doing that yet but get increasingly unhappy about results that are less than they could be.

This is my favourite red shirt so far, although I'd prefer her with no shirt.

Congratualations on yet another example of great photography Bob.

You really do have talent in spotting interesting images and that does not come naturally and with regard to the camera being used.

Sounds like a good tip - but why? Haze from heat or something?

Some monks at the rally at Fa Phan bridge. The lad I was talking to told me they were giving the demo a blessing to pray for no violence.

Not haze, just eliminating over exposure.....

The media wants blood and gore....a bearded guy with a machette raised in battle, a guy with blood dribbling down his chin, a guy with anger seething from his teeth.

Knobsy's arty stuff is to nice for the general public.
