| » Phnom Penh to Siem Reap Mucking About on the River | |

Since Bangkok Airport was closed from Tuesday evening, my flight to Phnom Penh being one of the last ones that flew out, I found myself stuck in Cambodia on Wednesday and needing to get back to Bangkok by Friday latest. I wasn't going to sit about in Cambo until they got things back to normal so I ended up taking a speedboat ferry to Siem Reap, private taxi to the border and then after crossing back into Thailand at Poipet, I took a bus to Bangkok. A 17 hour journey and a bit of a nightmare but hey ho.
Whilst in Phnom Penh I had a sniff around in the famous Sharky's. It's one of the busiest bars in Phnom Penh. ... [Read More]

It even has a nice pool and few places beat their rates.
It is situated in Bangpli, Samut Prakan. 15 minute cab ride.
Make sure to print out the thai map on their homepage, before going, as few drivers are familiar with this general area let alone the place Sananwan Palace. Or arrange a pickup with the hotel.
You can easily kill a day or two in this general area by visiting the Erawan Museum, Muang Boran aka Ancient City and the Crocodile Farm.
There is a very nice restaurant on the river bank within walking distance from the Sananwan Palace, Moo Yim, the smiling Pig. Try out their Moo Kata, all you can eat 80 Baht. If you travel without your wife, make sure... [Read More]

The pictures below are from a period covering more than a decade, so the quality will be somewhat lacking due to the non digital equipment. I hope for your understanding.

What do you think about one of the most dangerous chemicals in water, and not just water now as i have read reports about it being introduced in baby food.
From my understand, the only reason why it is in the water is because they have no other way of disposing of it. Fluoride Action Network

Question for all you legal beagles. It seems to me that the constitutional court was extremely quick (could not have predetermined the case could they?) with a judgment today barely minutes after 'Final Arguments' were provided to the court. It seems highly unusual considering some of the other "cases" I've watched progress at a snail's pace here. Among them:
1. Taxidriver's law suit where his ex-partner is suing his ass off for theft, fraud and other sundries, after he (Taxidriver) had him declared persona-non-grate so that he could take over completely his growing telecom empire. That case has been in the courts for years and years.
2. Samak's case has... [Read More]

I've looked but I couldn't see anything else that relates to my problem here.
I have worked as a designer for a Thai company since 2001. With rising economic concerns I thought I would finally be prudent and join the company provident scheme. When I requested it in September I got an email back from the fund administrator saying that I could not join as I was temporary staff. In reply I sent them a scan of my probation completion letter and offer of permanent employment that the previous MD gave me in 2002. They said it was a mistake and I was only a temporary employee because I sign a new contract every year. Yes, I did this every year because I was told it was only... [Read More]

Dec 02, 2008 - 10:44 AM - by DrB0b |
The Panthamit Yellowshirts, thanks to their backers in the media, their 24 hour a day TV Channel and their highly public actions, are well known to all of us. It seems that not so much is known about their redshirt opponents, this thread is an attempt to fill in some of the gaps. The policies, politics and tactics of Panthamit have been covered in detail in newspapers, on TV, and on the Internet but little has been said about what their opponents want - this is of course mainly because the Thai media, apart from NBTV, some radio stations and one or two newspapers, actively support Panthamit and have no interest in presenting the Redshirts case other than for propaganda purposes. ... With the high temperatures, drying effects of aircon, UV rays, bangkok pollutantion, and wind, your face has to endure a lot each day and can become damaged, dry, itchy and flaky as a result.
Moisturizing is no longer seen as a gay or girlie blouse thing. Moisturizing your face on a daily basis will help promote hydration, skin cell regeneration, healing, and prevent damaging effects including wrinkles and lines, etc. Quite a few also contain sun protection also.
All men should consider this, a number of products are available on the market, but which one works best for you?
My preference is low or non perfumed ones, eg: Gillette Complete SkinCare... [Read More]
