Question Are There Any Guitar Shops In Bangkok?

I'm Taiwanese but currently studying in Thailand, Bangkok
I live around the area of Samut Prakan, Srinakarin Rd.
I'm looking for a Fender Standard Stratocaster made from America
does anyone know a good place in Bangkok that sells Fender guitar?
or a second-handed Fender seller that's trustable and sells quality Fender?

PS. if you happen to know the approximate price and the year the guitar is made in
it would be best if you could tell me also.
or # to contact so I don't have to go all the way there to ask for the price.

BTW. I've already found a second-handed seller in Bangkok..
he's selling me a 'Second-handed America Fender Standard Stratocaster made in the year around 1990
he's selling me at the price of 26000 Baht. For any of you who's a guitarist or knows the pricing of guitars
do you think this is a reasonable price?

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out ! THANK YOU

I've never been inside any of them and know nothing about guitars but there are loads of guitar shops on the same road as Panthip Plaza.

As with most high end electrical goods, make sure the strat is genuine and not some ropey Taiwanese copy.

That's about $866.00 I have 3 strats. One is Mexican made, bought it in the States about 5 years ago for $300.00. It's a Fender Strat just assembled in Mexico. I have a Schecter Strat made in 1980, it's a good guitar, bought it in the States in 2009 for $750.00, it's worth about 12- $1400.00. Both of those I have at home in Thailand. The third one is an American Standard Fender Stratocaster HSS three color sunburst. It's with me here in Afghanistan. I bought it new online in 2010 for $1050.00 with hardshell case. I've always been a strat guy. Bought a 1958 when I was about 22 years old, paid $600.00 for it, sold it when I quit playing for $1200.00. I was 28 at the time. It's worth a lot of money today. I decided to pick the guitar back up about 5 years ago. A friend of mine was telling me of a place in Bangkok where you can buy real Fender Strats. He lives in Bangkok, but is with me here, I'll ask him what the name of the place is when I see him. There are a lot of different Fender Strats, that have a broad price range. You need to be careful of what your buying. Also, it depends on what you want, and what you can afford. Another thing, I had a Thai guy tell me that real Fender Strats cost a lot of money in Thailand, but he didn't say how much is a lot of money. I have seen them on Thaivisa being sold by Americans for slightly more than you would pay in the States. Depends on how hard up somebody is too. When I get back in Jan. I'll do some checking around. I want to buy a good amp. If your in Patts go to the blues factory and talk to Snowman, if he's still there, he can probably tell you everything you want to know, and where to buy.

If it is one of your own, Mr. Page, it would seem inexpensive.

    Fender

All genuine Fender Stratocasters have a serial number on the back of the neck

You can verify if it is genuine Fender and the year it was made by checking on the official Fender website

Most of the Fenders, including amps, I have seen in Thailand are fakes

If you pay that much money without verifying it's authenticity, don't be surprised if it is not real

If you find out it is real, check the neck for straightness

Hi scrapmetalband, is there any way I could contact the Snowman without going there? it's kinda far from where I am lol. I really wanna check on some recent pricing of a few Strats models both first & second-handed. I search through the internet but most of them appear to be in Dollar that's sell in Europe and not Baht in the area of Thailand Bangkok. Like the 26000 Baht 'Second-handed America Fender Standard Stratocaster made in the year around 1990' sell in Bangkok, it's in a pretty good condition, I wanna know is this price reasonable, but I can't find a person that could tell me the answer yet.. if not the Snowman, you know anyone who can and I can get in contact with? XD that would be really helpful~

I havent seen a fake that wasnt easy to spot and I also wouldnt say that here in Bangkok most are fakes either.

That said I'd buy new from the distributor who have a shop on level 3 at Central World. The price will be 40000b for an American Standard which is about right considering US street is $999 and you add import taxes and freight.

They have no stock until January.

You can also try Proplugin.com who list all the prices online. They wont have stock either but you will be able to see all the Thai prices there.

Yes, the place at Central World is where I was told you could buy a real Fender Strat. I'll go there when I get back and see what amps they've got. 40,000 baht sounds right for Thailand.

    guitar

Siam Paragon also has a big shop with all real guitars, another is in Siam Center, right next door, I think both owned by the same guy.Lot's to choose from and easy to get to. As someone else also said, just across the street from Pantip Plaza is a good sized shop that has real guitars, and another on the same side of the road as Pantip on down the road towards the bts. Also a few online on craigslist bangkok or craigslist Thailand.

    Vox Ac30 - about 25000 from memory
    FEnder Blues Deluxe - 31500
    Fender Supersonic 22 - 40000
    Fender twin - 65000

Check out the Blackstar Amps at Rock Planet also in Central World - amazing for the money and they do a decent fender clean too

Rock Planet has as good a selection of pedals as I've seen anywhere on the planet too

Siam Paragon is Music Connection who don't do Fender

Yeah, I've read good things about the Blackstar. What I really wanted was a Tone King, but there spendy, even in the States. I'll be sure to check out Rock Planet.

Searching For A Guitar Repair Shop In Bangkok

Hey Everyone! I'm searching for a guitar repair shop in Bangkok. I live around Samut Prakan Srinakarin Rd. It would be best if it's near from where I am. However, more importantly it's abt the repair man that have good skills & reputation & descent price on doing this sort of things. With that said I just bought a second-handed fender reissue Strat MIJ guitar and would like to have it set up properly including:

    1) Truss rod, action height, intonation, and pick up height, etc. (cost:???baht)
    2) "Buzzing" problem that's going on pretty badly with my electric guitar. (cost:???baht)
    3) Cleaning up the rusted metal parts and changing into new screws (cost:???baht)
    4) Changing into new set of strings and have action height set up properly (cost:???baht)
    5) Changing the bridge (the one I have now is all rusted) (cost:???baht)

It would be great if you guys have done it before and knows the average price (in baht) on doing any of the five repair mentioned from above. Since I have never get my guitar to a repair shop, I would like to get an idea of how much I'm looking at for any of the five repair above or a whole setup price. BTW, phone# of the repairman would be really helpful.

Any Help Would Be Much Appreciated. THANK YOU. =D

Just need a new set of strings and might as well have them set up the action height properly.

Where Can I Find These Two Brands Guitar Strings?

    ALRIGHT long story short, basically
I'm looking for guitar strings from these two brands:
    Ernie Ball and D'Addario
(specifically .09-.42 gauges for those who play guitar)
does anyone knows where I can find them near my area?
I live around samut prakan srinakarin rd.

PLEASE don't just simply say "any guitar shop",
because I've already been to some,
and not every guitar shop sells these two brands I'm looking for,
I did found one at central bangna,
but the price was way off, not reasonable at all.

any reply will be highly appreciated.
    THANK YOU =D

Just bought a pack of D'Addario at Fashion Island. They cost 290 baht. They had Ernie Ball's too. I've often bought strings at Central Bangna. How much were they?

Yeah, honestly, they arepretty common around the music shops. Fashion Island is next to Highway 9 on Ram Intra. A little far for a set of strings. There are two music stores in Central Bangna. Did you check the prices at both? Again, how much were they? Anything imported from the US is extra-expensive here.

oh yes one is on third floor and one on the fifth floor right?
and yes those two brands are quite common,
but I think not both stores in CB have these brands?
um I couldn't really remember the price..
I actually bought them a while back ago...
btw, how about Music Concept In Central World?
