    Feels like it mate.

In fact that area was probably on par with living in the 17th century when I arrived.

Cheap poorly made doors; I've seen real policemen try to kick doors in and it usually does not work like it does on television.

No we never had any problems not even loud music in the 12 years we have stayed there.
Everyone knows the rules its a nice clean block, and very sort after i never give this place up great location cheap rent and good neighbours.

She rents another block out bit more expensive about 70 yards down the Soi someone caused some trouble once she had them removed the next day.

Yes she is a bit moody but,any problems she gets it fixed, she moans if the outer gate is left open but she is getting on a bit now and her daughter seems to be taking over.

Lived in a condo like that once, effing nightmare ! Couldn't go for a drink without a sneering comment or derogatory aside. I was more than happy to move out of that place ..

    Cheers

We own this condo, And I'd say over half are farangs or a nationality other than Thai.

Never any loud music or anything disturbing until this. But I like the place. Place is recently built, staff/neighbors are nice.

Presumably you can ask for a meeting with the juristic person and voice your concerns after canvassing the opinions of your fellow residents. I suggest you do this formally and get it noted. Security costs are part of the service for which you pay into the maintenance fund and if it is as ineffective as it seems you should perhaps raise the possibility of changing the company providing it.

Not the same building, but the door to my room looks virtually the same as the one in the photo, looks like it might pop open if you sneeze on it too hard. Definitely not a place the three little pigs should move into.

I assume that the flimsiness of the doors/locks in my building is supposed to be compensated for by the security cameras all over the place. No security cameras at your place, Archer? If there are and no one saw anything/there is no video record, that would be something to complain about.

I think it was handled as best it could be.. With the exception of the guards not understanding how important it was for them to respond.

The one I notified waited for another to come back him up, OK no problem but after you see the first door thats been kicked in just assuming the guy had passed out somewhere was a bit lax.

Once they realized exactly what was happening they got all the guards except one they left to man the car park gates, And they looked for the guy while we waited for the coppers.

The doors here are shite, No matter what type of lock you put on a paper door it can be kicked in, And as mentioned that's probably because there is security. I am looking for something to remedy that.

I see that you did mention cameras- I hadn't bothered to go back to check your OP, because from what you have told us it sounds like you effectively don't have working surveillance cameras. If someone had been monitoring them the situation probably wouldn't have got so out of hand. With such crappy physical security (lousy doors, slow guards) you really need to encourage your building staff to have someone monitor the cameras. If they were working there should be a video record of what transpired as well.

Can you really imagine Somchai and his buddy sitting there monitoring a video camera all night ?

They do watch the monitors at my building during the day and even in the evenings there is usually more one than person in the office with the displays. At night I usually see someone seated in front of the monitors, and yeah, he is often in the Land of Nod. Still, they should have recordings that they keep for a least a day or two at a time, "should" being the operative word.

They have offices with staff, but no one in there at night

I felt quite secure there, nice and quiet, half of the building I stayed was empty, as they are new, which was great for the swimming pool

You can get one of these idiots anywhere

Them security guards need a good bollocking for not reacting fast enough.

    ^ That would work.

A short update: Apparently the farang is a tenant who lives on the second floor, They watched the video and recognized him the afternoon after the event.

The staff say he is "always very nice man" and according to him he had a spat with his girlfriend, Went drinking with a friend and got very drunk (obviously) and upset.

They said he offered to pay for all of the damage and was very sorry. So at the end of this conversation I'm left to wonder.... Why didn't the door guard recognize him right off the bat? Once he found the right condo unit he must have passed out and thats why nobody found the guy, Since he is a resident they could have sent the police to his door instead of looking all over for him......How did they not put 2+2 together....Strange.

And the management is going to accept his apology and hope that he pays for the damages as he stated, And not ask the guy to leave? I still don't know who he is....never seen him yet. Also the police were involved and now it seems management isn't going to report the incident? Very strange the way things work out here.

The cameras are indeed always rolling, They can be seen directly behind the front desk when you walk in the building... So even if they're rolling and someone is near them they're not being watched at all times.
