    Beer & Football near Lumpini

I've been conned into staying in BKK tonight (14th May) and need to escape to watch the football. Only interested in Newcastle against Chelsea (kick off at 7.30). I'm in the Sathon area (opposite Lumpini boxing stadium) - don't want a girlie bar scene - just a beer, good TV, not too far and not too many cockney wankers if possible.

    Any recommendations?

Just had a phone call to inform me that I am in fact the wanker. The Newcastle game is actually tomorrow and I will be long gone by then.

However, I might still be in need of beer - someone a long time ago told me of a blues bar in the Sathorn area. I think it was owned by 2 brothers and the non-whore mongering crowd would frequent it. Supposed to be very small and had live music.

    Any ideas?

Probably thinking of Brown Sugar on Sarasin Road, it's empty until about 10 - 10.30pm though.

Are you one of those shirtless, beer gutted Geordie wankers?

Well, I am from the North East, have a middle-aged spread and I must admit to having had one or two off the wrist in my time.

But why are you interested if I take my shirt off? I didn't take you for one of those and I don't hold any prejudice but that ain't my bag I'm afraid.

I thought it was a Geordie tradition to spend 40 quid on one of Freddie Shepherd's 3 quid shirts, let him rip the piss out of you for being so fucking dumb, then go to shitholes like Birmingham in the middle of winter and show how supremely hard you are by taking it off and watching the whole game looking like an out of sorts beached whale?

I was trying to get a ticket for this game last minute... Cheapest I could find online was 160... fvck that.

That would probably be sat amongst the cockernees as well... Would need to be sat with the Geordies to enjoy it.

Reckon I could pick up a ticket outside the ground before kick off?

Newcastle tickets all sold out - only gave us 1600 tickets. I used to go to Stamford Bridge when they would give us the whole of the end opposite the Shed. Wonder why they are so popular now?

Some of the Man United 'fans' started supporting Chelsea when they won the 2004 - 2005 title.
