I have been on the river in a boat - but only the ferry across to Koh Kret

chukdukjuk market - I used to go there many moons ago for second hand books

and chinatown ? which part ? I have only been in dodgy stinking sidestreets while looking for various components.

Now closed by the police following the incident with the democrat politician and the toilet brush.
Pity that, never see a place like it again.

The Museum for King Rama VII, otherwise known as HM Phra Bat Somdet Phra Poramintharamaha Prajadhipok Phra Pok Klao Chao Yu Hua was very interesting and it was free even for foreigners.

Quite entertaining and you will learn something about the Country in which you have chosen to live.

I figured the 4 faces of Buddha at the Erawan Shrine would rank up there.

What does the OP mean to get us started? This is the exact top ten list of any tourist book in the world about Bangkok. Maybe it was his first time to Thailand? If this is all people see and do when they come to Bangkok, no wonder so many people never return.

Museum Siam. Interactive museum on Thai history / culture. Right next to Wat Po and Grand Palace, and a good way to get a bit of historical and cultural context for other sights.

Last, but not least, it's a way to spend a few entertaining mid-day hours in an air-conditioned space (which is not another shopping mall), instead of walking outside in the heat.

Cost is 300 baht for tourists, 100 baht for Thais, well worth the price. Resident Farang can easily get the Thai price, just ask for it (in Thai preferably).

    No particular order:

    Thai Railway Museum. Chatuchak Park
People watching in Kao San Road
Canal boat from Banglampoo to Bang Kapi on a heavy, rainy day
    Soi Cowboy people watching
    Soi Cowboy taking part
Watching TEFL-ers trying to masquerade as executives at the Londoner pub
Watching the Uni girls go by in Siam Square
Watching a movie at the Scala Cinema Siam Square and admiring the fab architecture
Watching frustrated farangs bang their fists on the counter at immigration
Spicy Club at chucking out time, the ladyboys homing in on farangs who failed to 'pull' that night

    Definitely the boat ride.
    How about:
    Patravadi (sp?) Theatre.
    Sukumvit 4
    Pantip plaza
Agree to people watching at Koh San
Eat Gai Phat Met Me Muang at my favorite (streetside) restaurant in Pratanam.
    Any Soapy (at least once)
Dinner on a river cruise (OK, another boat ride)
At least one market (but Chatuchak is way too crowded for me)
    A ride in the klongs
OK Muay Thai fight (again, once is enough)
A ride on a Bangkok tuk tuk (but never on a Phuket one)
    sorry, that's 12, (couldn't stop)

Agree about the OP being a troll or promoting something. (but interesting read if you elimate him/her)
