Martial arts shops (century Bob punch bag/man)

I've been trying for a while with no joy, to find a Century Bob punch bag here in Thailand. I put in this forum, because if it's going to be anywhere it will be in BKK. I'm thinking my best chance will be a very big martial arts department store, if any exist.

Any info appreciated, it will cost me a small fortune to get one shipped in.

    Cheers.

So you saw that picture, and the first two things that came to your mind was gay sex and a quadriplegic? Very worrying. Each to their own I guess.

That photo looks well gay - no shirt on and a pair of white sailors trousers
    purrrrrrrrrrrrleese
and he can't even tie his belt properly ...or is it part of the fun having that black thing flapping about

    but seriously
that punch bag contraption looks useless
that base is far too big ,he's almost having to lean in to execute that strike ,its not very realistic , unless you come up against coco the clown ,

I would suggest that the fact you cant find it in the LOS is a blessing.
I purchased a similar contraption a few years back,Apart from getting freaked out
once in a while that this half naked weird bloke was in my room,There is the moving the stupid thing around.

If you hit harder than bruce lee looks you need to fill the base with water or something heavy,When you realise that Mr Naked is not for you,You will need to hire several power lifters to help move the dam thing.

Better off putting one of these on your desk...

I would have thought you'd be well used to half naked blokes in your room by now!

Thanks for your help, but I think if a punchbag is freaking you out, your probably not the right man to be giving me advice. (I use the word man loosely of course)

Are you a TMA freak trying to practice Dim Mak or something? If you already got a bag these things are pretty much pointless.

Not Dim Mak, jsut trying to work off the Dim Sum! Look, if I've used one before, and liked using it, and I want one, I fail to see how that could possibly make it pointless. I think you're getting your opinions confused with my opinions! They're different I assure you.

I saw them years ago at the shops near one of the major sports stadiums in BKK (it wasn't Lumpini, as I was there last week and they didn't have any)- sorry, I can't remember exactly- if I think of it I'll let you know, but they are around in Thailand.

Your WAY better off with a ceiling-suspended heavy bag, though- those floor-standing things rock way too much and slide across the floor (and not in a good way that simulates an actual opponent's moves)- if you already have a couple of heavy bags, you aren't going to be using this thing very much- they're for people who don't have a place to put a real bag.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I checked with the wife- I saw them at a couple of the shops near National Stadium- this would have been ~5 years ago, but the shops would certainly still be there.

Cheers fellas. It's shame you have wade through the simpletons posts to get to the replys from normal people. It's a bit sad that people who don't know the answer to questions, still feel complelled to answer. That's forums for you I guess.

Regarding the movement 'Failsafe'. I had noticed they slide a bit, even when full of sand, but it won't be to hard to come up with a way of securing it properly. I accept there not for everyone and or not a replacement for a good bag, but they have their differences, and benefits over a bag as well, and I will get good use from it.

    Cheers for the normal replys.
