I read on another site that Thai customs have been searching and fining tourists who are over the limit when bringing duty free into the country.
Has anyone any recent experiences of customs at the new airport ??

at the old airport never heard of any problems
the thais were as a norm searched and rightly so, the smuggling fuckers they are, but never or nearly ever a tourist
perhaps a reverse trend in the red carpet "tourist are welcome" policy
or perhaps the officials have just become more needy, go figure
now everybody gets a piece of Customs shitty stick
but why am I getting more and more the "you are not welcome here" feeling?
well slim, I retired just before turning 40 and last time I looked
rents were still coming in and the shit I own, thanx to odin,
ain't in thailand
but odder things have been known to happen,
do you know something I don't?
don't mind me asking, just in case
can I come and stay with you down in 'fine' city
for a while until thangs blow over...
Mi Casa es Tu Casa sorta thing?
yea sure
I was search in the old airport - as well as the other farangs. Still the chances being stopped and searched were very low.
in the old airport they had only 1 xray mashine per terminal - now there is some 28 of them and some 200 more custom officers. They all have to work and by chance they discovered that farangs are a good source of an extra income.
not for spamming
I`ll let you know what the customs are like,as I`m arriving on Thursday afternoon, from London.
what are you hiding
one thai custom I quite like is when a group of peolpe are eating elderest person there should pay.
the yellow T-shirt thing for the King is also a good one...
Custom workers are bad...
I was searched (x-ray) in the Bangkok airport two weeks ago - as well as all others
no, I was flying with lufthansa from frankfurt but there were many other flights at that time and customs did not ask first for a boarding pass and passport as they do in the UK. Everybody had to put their luggage on the x-ray machine
Thai Customs t'aint got nothing on their US counterparts.
A bigger gaggle of fockwits you'd struggle to find...
