Welcome to the Nasa Vegus Hotel Ramkhamhaeng Bangkok

The good old Nasa Vegus hotel is famous for its eviction of an American black rapper earlier this year. It was claimed that racism was at work but I have my doubts as there was plenty of Indians staying there when I checked in. Its a funny old place as the exterior and ground floor check in look a million dollars but the rooms are living in the sixties with color scheme and furniture to suite. Considering the very friendly price and the fact that the room was 36 sqm with good aircon, fridge, sat TV, big bed, plenty of hot water and fully serviced each day I'd have to say it was a very good deal. A word of warning, do not take the cheap rooms as there small, very noisy and definitely to be avoided ( 650 baht ) but cough out 790 baht and you'll get a top floor room that is definitely worth the money. Just don't take any yabba as the color scheme and furniture will do your head in. Anyway lets have a look eh.
    Stroller is a Yerman faggot.

This hotel is directly on the new airport rail link, actually the link runs directly in between the 2 towers. One tower holds the hotel and the other tower holds the apartments and at 4000 baht a month for the apartments it wouldn't be bad idea to rent one long term just to store all ones crap.I'll check them out next trip.

This hotel is very convenient as its 20 minutes away from the Airport by the new sky rail link and 10 minutes away from Paya Thai sky train in the city. Easy and quick to get anywhere one wants using the MRT and BTS public transport. On the right is the apartments and on the left is the hotel and in this picture I've just stepped down from Ramkhamhaeng airport link. Just be careful crossing the dam road.

I stayed in what they call a junior suite at 790 baht but your referring to the master suite I'm sure.

Unfortunately no but I'm going back there so I'll cough out the extra baht and get the best room they have as the prices are a joke.

    Let you know next time.

Alright then, this road is real pain in the arse as one has to cross every time you step outside the hotel. Saving grace is the regular train track is directly outside the hotel and if ones lucky you crack it when a train comes along and all the traffic stops. We are looking directly at the hotel in this photo.

Stayed in this hotel many times as it is close to where my wife's friends live.
Terry you can get a members card that gives you a 10-15% discount every time you stay in the hotel, you can also rent the hotel rooms for 7000 a month, haven't been in the apartments but I would say the hotel price would be better value as I think the 4000 would be for a bare basic room.

The reception area is large and very modern complete with fish tanks, bar, restaurant, internet and dude to open the door every time one enters or exits.
This photo shows a small part of it where you can rent a car or tourist services plus the sitting area complete with papers. Very nice actually.

Correctomondo. The staff where very friendly and the lovely lady indeed did give me the members card and I payed 750 baht instead of the 790. As far as 7 grand a month for the hotel its a screaming bargain and thanks for that info.

    Cheers

The price schedule. I'm going to give the penthouse a crack just for a giggle as blind Freddy could stay there at that price.

Ok lets have a look at the money shot. This photo shows the room I stayed in ( junior suite) 750 baht with there discount card. The color scheme and toy town furniture where quite hideous but I warmed to it after filling it with my crap and at the end really liked it. All the amenities worked flawlessly and the water was hot and strong which was a bonus. Sat TV was good, fridge cranked and nice big bed plus fully serviced everyday by friendly smiling staff. A/C was spot on also. The good vibe in this hotel more than made up for the 5 year olds that painted and furnished the rooms.

Anybody worth his salt knows that DD gets very upset if one don't post a lovely picture of the shitter. Possibly something to do with him having to crap in the back yard when he was young so here you go DD, knock yourself out.

You got to laugh at the mentality of the management. I mean the exterior and reception is flawless but the rooms are out of the sixties.

Give someone a paint brush and repaint the rooms in a modern color, hang up a few decent photos and spend 30 baht on some decent furniture the rooms would come up a treat. They then could easily up there prices.

The place had plenty of customers when I was there so the low prices get the punters in and they then use the restaurant and the bar generating profits so I imagine they are happy with that.

Anyway I was very happy with my stay and will go back, everything else was spot on and the location was brilliant for me.

I'll be back later to finish the thread as I need to bottle my home brew which consists of 60 stubbies of lovely Coopers Lager.

Totally agree. what a hole. From the outside it looks all right, but inside it looks like shit. I guess if you grew up in a trailer park this might be livin'.

Urm Foking hell Betty that's a tad harsh innit.

Alright then, its not the friggin oriental but you got to weigh it up and I must counter claim espousing the positives of this hotel.

Agreed the photo of the room looks like a cancerous growth but its not that bad at all. Actually it was great for the shitty little price of 750 baht and Ive stopped in some horrible dives in my backpacking days that were a lot worse for that amount of baht.

I really liked the area as once you got on the sky train you could travel into Bangkok in a matter of ten minutes so the convenience was brilliant also being so close to the airport was also a winner.

Another positive was there was fok all smelly backpackers or black American rappers there so that also was worth gold.

Didn't hear no train as I was on the top floor and I like Bangkok so its all good innit.

And on closing my name is spelt Terence and I haven't lost the plot since last night so I'm traveling fine.

    Have a nice day Betty.

More lovely photos coming your way.

Oh yes, as far as being a crap area there was some very interesting street markets not far away inhabited with only Thai and no tourists. I like that.

    She's alright mate.

Sorry mate, that's Terence as in:

I though it was T, as in:

    My mistake.

750 baht is cheap, but you can stay on the river in Kanchanaburi for 90 baht, or in 'luxury' room for 1k, so why end up in Bkk for that money??? But, up to you, enjoy the market.

terry is saving cash for the cheap whores he hire in the area,

rumors has it you can bargain as low as 250 THB a short time in the area,

so at the end, less than 1,000 THB a day for whore + room is not a bad deal
