I've been going to Mojos on soi 33. Would welcome other recommendations for live music venues. Maybe along Sukhumvit Road. Prefer Rock and Roll.

The Philippino Band at the Huntsman under the Landmark hotel are good and you always have the Spasso's Bar under the Hyatt Erawan Hotel (although those bands play mainly R&B).
I go to Mojos regularly and the band is just OK compared to others around.
Thanks for the input. Diversity is a good thing
Brown Sugar, Soi Sarasin for Jazz/blues. Saxophone Pub, near Victory Monument for Blues/Jazz.
Downscale but good live R&R, 5 Star on Soi Cowboy. Band starts at 10PM. A few farangs drop by and jam with the band. Saw a good farang drummer playing there a while back.

Mate I was terrible, in fact I will never sit at a set of drums again pissed, well not as pissed as that night anyway.Originally Posted by Norton
Yes the 5 Star Bar is good and that guitarist is mega.
Sek Loso is at Climax soi 11 on November 12th
Wasn't there a small place on soi seven awhile back - still open?
I've been to Tokyo JoesSukhumvit Soi 24 a couple of times. It's OK.
Lot's of live music venues so take your pick based on your preference and budget.

Bangkok Beat soi 7/1
Raunchy female
Titanium soi 22- bit pricey but have an all female band thats quite cool and the ice bar has to be seen if you wanna feel like your back in the UK right now
and if you drink slow- The witches Tavern Soi 55 have live bands and a weird place called Iron Fairies is nearby. but I never been in there. Seems a bit weird. check out there website and you will understand
Then you have the Hard Rock which always has decent bands but I find the venue in Bangkok to be small and claustrophobic.
Very Very good band there. The only problem is that the stage is about 2sq ft and the bass player has no room and is literally playing on the stairs you use when you wanna go a piss!.Originally Posted by Norton
The thing that makes the them stand out is that they can play most requests and don't stick to the usual 10 song play-list like that Elvis dude in Country Road and the other shit band.
Took the piss one night and started singing Tarzan Boy by Baltimora and the fuckers only played it!
Top blokes.
Oh. For you boys who don't know the 80's. Here it is..............
Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
Black diamonds? I shit 'em.
You should try getting to the drum kit and when you are pissed.Originally Posted by Bogon
Yes a very good band and as I said before the guitarist rocks.
I thought you did great. Course I was as pissed as you. My driving was far worse than your drumming.Originally Posted by Loy Toy

Anyway we made it and I certainly enjoyed your company and yes it seemed everybody knew you on that soi.
Thanks for the inputs. anybody else care to chime in?
I tried but there was some wanna-be RHCP already banging the skins!Originally Posted by Loy Toy
Wonder who that was?
Hillary 2 on Soi 4 has live band most nights. I think the owner rotates them with Climax.

What a bummer I missed him.
I also missed Jimmy Page last weekend as I have been informed he played a set with Lam Morrison's combo at the Blues Factory.
Fok I would of loved to have been there.
^^Dave from Blues Factory denies that JP played. Dave says JP stopped by, but did not play. It would appear to a joke by another poster on TV.

^ Well Dave should know.
In fact I read about him playing at The Blues Factory on this forum and on a thread launched about the Jesters Charity Event.
Anyway if JP didn't I don't feel so bad now........
It was another boardmember on TV trying to be funny, I was told that he'd popped in the bar, I didn't see him though so can't confirm.
Great to see that the Blues factory is still going strong.
