    Kabin buri Visit

Some pics of my recent trip to LOS. stayed with the fiances family in the village for 6 days. Got a little house bound, so talked my girl into some toy shopping for the nephews in town. The van trip in was a dry and dusty 25 minute ride...

Apart from a great central market, a new shopping plaza with a Tescos, and the usual strip shops, Kabin buri can boast a luxury hotel - the Kantary - this 12 story place just sticks out like dogs bollocks.....

Yes, thats a nice looking hotel. The kind of place I would like to stay if I could afford it. As It is I have to make do with a walk around the air con lobby, a dump in their toilets , and maybe a coffee while I cool off.

Never heard of the place, turns out it's not far away from Bkk - 2 hours?

Kabin Buri (Thai: กบินทร์บุรี) is a district (Amphoe) in the southeastern part of Prachinburi Province, eastern Thailand.

Yeah - its about 2 and half hours to the fiance's village - I think its called Wang Takhian, just south of national highway 359. We traveled in one of those white commercial vans that leave from the Victory Monument roundabout in Bangkok.

I sat in the back sweating (no fkn aircon) with my hand over my eyes - taking a horrified peep every now and then at the oncoming traffic that we were barely avoiding at 120kmh. just the thing after a big night out and a belly full of iced milk coffee.....

And I think the Kantary comes in about $50 Aus dollars a night - cant even get a dodgy motel here in Australia for that

That hotel looks very nice. How much did you pay per night, greyman63?

We've all been there - I used to do that route to Saraburi, some of the fukwit drivers were beyong belief - 140 in the rain screaching from 1st lane to 3rd without slowing down... Still, on the up side many of them die young (alas often taking 12 others with them...).

I might have a look one day when me house is built in Nakhon Nayok and I turn into a lunatic like Mr Slaps, I'll need a few day trips.
    Cycling should be banned!!!

Everyone was giving me odd looks in the van cause I was struggling to put on a seat belt that clearly had never been used...

Neverna: The last time I looked at it it was around 1500 -1600 bht per night. I'm thinking of spending a night there when I get married next month.
