    Bangkok Rooms To Rent

Im planning a trip to Bangkok and staying there for a year, I would like to know if theres any services out there that i can use to find a room to rent.

I know everything is extremly cheap compared to what im used to here, Having spent 3 months in Thailand not so long ago, i found my self spending silly money because things were so cheap. So in order of minimizing my spending i would like to see if this type of accomodation is in demand or atleast find out if theres a market for it.

Im looking to do Muay Thai in Bangkok and due to the magnitude of camps out there, Im confident that putting accommodation before deciding on a camp. So anywhere in Bangkok would be an option for me.

When i say room to rent, pretty much like student accommodation or living with a family and just renting the room.

    Thanks
    Minty

There are places in Parts of the world that are known as "RESIDENCE HOTELS", they actually are in the business of renting rooms for personal occupancy for 1 day or a week and some rent them for extended lengths of time,One such place is known as "The French Embassy" or some call it The YMCA. and some are know as "SHORT TIME HOTELS", and I take that to mean, by the hour or some such.

Rompo Mansion, Fully furnished mansion rooms with stylish interior, best service with all facilities similar like first class hotel, 24 hours security

Serviced rooms with muay thai gym attached. I've stayed here a couple of times for I few months. It's a bit run down but a good place to stay while you are finding your feet.

MrRoomFinder is a fantastic site, Thanks theres lots of options available in there thats tickling my fancy.

The residency hotel's are an option i would be looking into, But even if they do have options of longer stays, the majority of the hotel guests would be using the place as a place so they can find there feet, Im looking for some normality within my time in Bangkok. But certainly i will be serving its purpose out there as a means to go on.
    Thanks

Rompo Mansion, I don't know why i havent come across this place before. Everything about it looks great, You all have certainly left me with a few headaches. I couldnt have asked for a better response.

    Thanks again

I think you will find if you google what your looking for you will find it, you may consider Pattaya too as the sea air is healthier than the BKK Smog.
There are a lot of Thai gyms in Pattaya for your type of training.

Probably one of the most famous Muay Thai training camps is in Pattaya just around the corner from my house. I see heaps of foreigners out training everyday.

It is set in a rural area and is handy to Lake Maprachan and the Darkside if you need to have a night out in the bars.

Plenty of very cheap places to stay nearby and if you need some more info just PM me.

I stayed at Rompo Mansion a few years ago, i didn't have any reason to complain about the place, it was okay.

It is worth noting that the policy at the time was that guests are not allowed in your room at night. I've no idea how stringently that policy is applied, or even if it is still the case, but it's something to consider if your activities will involve you seeking overnight company.

    seems so pricey

I'm looking at the prices on Mr Roomfinder and they seem incredibly high. Is it really that expensive to live in Bangkok or is this just a damn service that makes a lot of commish?

Thanks for your help everyone, but im heading to Ao Nang for a year on the 20th of November, i'll deffinetely be keeping close tabs on this forums tho for future reference. Thanks again.

Greghefford, you would hope its the service that costs the money wouldnt you. I would'nt be paying for anything over the internet anyway. I suppose it gives you a rough guide line tho as to what to excpect to pay.
