BKK hotel for under $15 needed, urgent

I just arrived from Bali. I don't know anything about BKK. I'm sure if I looked through this wonderful forum I would find the info. But I'm using a borrowed computer on borrowed time.
I have bronchittis. Just getting over a fever. I need rest in a hotel with hot shower water and thick walls, because of my loud bark, near a local food vendor/lestaulant wet market, etc. Thanks

    of course you can

be somewhere around the bus station or a wet market , catering to locals

won,t have thick walls though will just have a tired bed , no linnen and shared facilities .

Hard to find as it won't have any English signs , yep somewhere around the bus station would be a good starting point .

been many a year since I've slept that rough , could try around the train station also .

    The Atlanta Hotel, Bankok

Not sure it's worth a damn but if price is your only criteria.

For me, a hotel is just a place to sleep and bathe. I spend very little time there.

along time ago I spent my virgin night in Bangkok in a place called the Thai Son Greek with a room to myself for the sum of 20 baht .

It was upstairs over an eatery near the central train station long gone now I suspect , anyone else heard of it ?

Beekaykay is a wonderfull and welcoming city. Wave a 1000bht note around, and the natives will sort out absolutely free accomodation.

Even worse if preceded by Thai Son. No wonder the place is no longer in business.

I found one for for 575 Thb if you pay online. Pay in cash and its 800 Thb. Not far from the airport. "The Great Residence" near On-Nuch Rd. and King Kaeo Rd. Nice place. Thanks all.

If Sukhumvit lower sois are tolerable then the only place that may meet your needs could be the Crown Hotel in soi 19. Probably around 600bt and the cheapest in the area where falang still patronise although they must be on their uppers to use the place.

considering this was posted over a month ago it's probably fair to say it's a bit too late.

....... but others may yet still benefit from the information, you idiot.

Posting isn't all about the opportunity to wave one's willy in the air but then how could a totally self absorbed juvenile Antipodean runt such as your good self know that?
