fake immigration visa on khao san road

ok...so getting a fake diploma on khao san road would not be a good idea..
can someone, somehow, get a fake immigration visa on khao san road?....is it just a stamp that goes in your passport?....how often do police check your passport. i mean if you have an immigration visa you can own property, work, have your name in a house book, etc....
CAN I GET AN IMMIGRATION VISA ON KHAO SAN ROAD? AND WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

Yes you can get a fake stamp in your passport from ksr. I used to get them about 7 years ago and I introdused well over a hundred people into getting them. Then one day the government did a crack down on the stamps (the code number round the edge of the stamp) and hundreds were arrested at airports, border points and so fourth. I had to hand my passport back to the British embassy so they could impound it and I had to buy a new one. There were more than 2000 dudes doing the same thing as me so my advise is.

    Get the real stamps.

    Its just not worth it.

Agreed. Now it can get you a black stamp in your passport and a permanent ban from Thailand.

I got in sooo much shit and I felt really bad for the people that I convinced into getting the stamps from the shop that was giving me more and more discount every time I got a new customer for them. Even the school I was working for was sending all the farrang to them. My visas wern't costing me shit. Then one day it all went wrong and stickman was posting the 'bad' numbers. We were all checking every day and I knew something was up. So I went to the british embassy to try to lie and get a new passport and there was a big note on the door saying,

"If you've been buying fake stamps from that guy on KSR (it may as well have said my name) then dont bother lying. Just come clean and we'll sort the problem out.

    Whoops!

My intention was never to make any money (as I didn't) and I never even thought about it being illegal, I was just dumb enough to think it was an easy visa extension.

Lesson learned by me and lucky enough that I worked for a rich guy who got a couple of close girl friends (friends that were girls) that I worked with out of the holding cells at immigration. (I told them to photo copy every page of the passport before it got impounded but girls are just dumb)

I remember seeing a photo in a news paper when it all kicked off about fake stamps, it was a picture of fifteen or twenty Aussie all chained together being taken to court to face charges over fake stamps, all were shaven headed and looking pretty fuvking miserable, I remember thinking that could so easily be me.

    It could easily have been.

At the time, 2003, traveling was a new thing to me and I just saw the stamp thing as staying here for one more month without the hassle.

Id be sat in a pub enjoying the craic with a few mates and one would say "Gotta go to bloody Cambodia tomorrow on a visa run )

I'd just take them to the place where it cost 1800bt (400bt for me) and you get your passport back in 10 days.

Never knew it would cause so much shit.

I think it was just holding cells. Probably a few days, maximum is only three months. Still not nice though. (Sorry again)

Juno, it sounds like a really stupid idea. And a few here were stupid enough to do it. Welcome to the mad house.

Look at some of the Thai prison websites then decide for yourself. Their computer is sophisticted enough to spot this immediately. When I come into the Country, they slide my passport through the reader, see what kind of visa I already have (retirement) then look through my messy passport to find it. Last time he asked me where is your retirement visa? The only way he could have known I had one was to have read it off his computer screen.

    Juno, you asked for advice.

    You got it.

    Why do you persist?

Personally I think you should go for it.

Better still, save even more money and buy some coloured inks and write/draw in your own stamp.

'juno' at the cost of being wound up... Don't even go there... I remember the Falang Visa Crisis of 2003, very well.

Many passports ended up in the laundry basket, for some odd reason.

    More than a bit
Why keep saying immigration visa ?
Immigration do not issue visa, they are handled by the MFA

i dont plan to leave thailand so what would the chances of being cought be? my passport will not go through borders or airports. i want my name in a house book and be able to work without the risk of being fined. basically i want to live here, work, and have my name in a house book.

i think my understanding of this is "you will be cought at borders and airports if you try to leave or come back"........."if you are not at any borders or airports, dont worry about it"
    is this correct?
