UK to BKK onto Udon direct with Thai

Can anyone tell me the procedure regarding our luggage ,, do we have to retrieve at BKK and reload or will it be transfered for us .

I am booking us direct from Heathrow to Udon with Thai ,, on the ground in BKK about 3 hours before flight to Udon

    Cheers

Ask for a bookthrough at UK airport. Show your onward flight details. When you get to BKK, you will be met by a rep from the airline and given a badge/pennant/sticker. Your luggage will be transfered and you won't have to worry about lugging it around. You're not supposed to leave the airport, but, in practice, you can't get far and back in three hours.

Just an update on this procedure if anyone is interested ,, I followed Loombuckets advice at Heathrow ,,,,,,asked in my most polite voice for a bookthrough and was told no way had to reclaim bags etc so went to customer service got told the same by the supervisor . This was Thai dont know if other carriers are different . Didnt kick up too much as I got my usual best economy seats I had asked for . To be honest it wasnt too bad at swampy as they let us chuck the cases straight back on for the next Udon flight so we could go and get a bit of brekkie with just our hand luggage. Just glad we dont have to drag the cases the 20 odd miles it is from the landing gates at swampy to immigration

If Udon has Customs and Imm,its should be ok to check your bags thru,if not you must clear both in BKK
