Ko Kret - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lovely little place to get away from life in central Bangkok for a few hours.
Was up early, left Silom at 7:20, zoomed up Vipawadee-Rangsit and turned onto Chaeng Wattana at 8:05. Not bad for monday morning rush hour. Was a lovely drive with blue sky, cool morning air and 5 wide lanes.

Now you can possibly take yer motorbike over from the Nonthaburi side, but not from the Pak Kred side, no real need to anyway, the path circumnavigating the island is only just over 5km, and you can rent out bikes for 40b... I was gonna walk it as I haven't actually walked in about 6 years, but luckily sense kicked in and got one of the bikes, very luckily as it happens. By 10:30 it was at least a trillion % humidity and I would have been found dead under a palm tree shrunk to the size of an infant otherwise.

You can get the boat across from under the Rama IV bridge, but I went down to the left to get the boat from Wat Klang Pak Kret. Asked the old lady how much, she held up two fingers, I gave her 20 baht, she gave me back 18... a 2 baht ferry ride, I doubt there's much cheaper anywhere on the planet.
