    Flooded sois & 7-year kids B-day parties

Yesterday, we ( meaning, the daughte and I) were inivited to attend her friends B-day party on EKhamai Soi 6. Her friend's dad is the ambassador to Bangledesh so I thought this might be fun.

On the way to Soi 6.

Yes things were starting to look rather bleak. Finally, we made it to Soi 6.

it is amazing after a few years of living in Thailand, how little I know...

The taxi driver finally said his taxi was to small to float. So, we had to hit the street. I did find a nice place to rent...

It was an interesting walk. It seems one company was aptly named.

The security guard at the condo managed to pull his boots up!

Since, I had to wait a couple of hours, I decided to wade through the muck and go to the
main street of Ekamhai and relax...

Going home, what did my daughter say? The party was boring! JESUS CHRIST!!!

More than three hours of heavy downpours yesterday caused severe flooding and chronic traffic jams in Bangkok and nearby provinces.

A storm struck the capital and adjacent areas at 2pm causing 47 road accidents injuring 19 people.

Many roads were flooded, causing monster jams resembling peak-hour congestion on a Sunday, the one day such ordeals seldom occur.

Many vehicles were stuck on the roads for several hours as floodwaters rendered them useless.

The flooding wreaked havoc on the roads in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani.

According to FM 91 radio station, almost 3,000 drivers called in during the five-hour deluge to provide information about traffic congestion, floods and accidents.
The level of floodwaters in some places was as high as 30cm, submerging many sections of the city including Ngarmwongwan Road, Kaset intersection, Ekamai Rd (Sukhumvit 63), Sukhumvit 71, Chaeng Wattana, Phetkasem, Sukhaphibal I and several roads in Thonburi. There were also severe jams on main thoroughfares such as Phaholyothin, Ratchadaphisek, Rattanathibet, Tiwanon, Chaeng Wattana, Sukhumvit, New Phetburi, Ramkhamhaeng and Phetkasem roads lasting from 2pm to 6pm.
