As far as I'm aware, there isn't a direct flight to Manchester. There certainly wasn't last time i tried. You will have to change at London or Frankfurt i think.

I flew 1 way to and from Heathrow.

Can't she pay for her own flight? Sounds iffy.

It was pretty clear to me from the outset what his situation was.

Is there a budget youre working to?

Ive used Emirates BKK to Birmingham quite a few times and its been a stop in Dubai of 2 hrs at most, might be different to Manchester.

Im not sure if it still applies that if you use a credit card to book then that person has to be in the travelling party, worth checking beforehand.

Cheapest option is Etihad, i flew them in December to Manchester, short lay over in Abhu Dhabi. Go direct to Etihads website and can book ticket online yourself if you worried about your misses running off with your cash and taking a trip to Pkuket instead of Manchester.

Careful....... if you book with credit card she may be asked to show the card at check-in.... difficult if you have booked from UK.... happened to me once with EVA Air.....

DONT book a single, return is not much more, and she will not feel so trapped.

If you cant afford the small extra cost, you wont afford the cost of introducing a Thai girl into UK life.

Sorry, now I sound a bit cynical

I think she may have to have a return to satisfy UK immigration.

As has been said. No need for return with fiancé visa.

As far as im aware, there are no direct flights to MAN, only London. My advise would be buy a ticket for MAN, with any airline. Singapore (more expensive, but spot on, change at Changi) Etihad (cheapest at the moment, and pretty good to boot, change Abu Dhabi), Emirates (same as Etihad, change at Dubai), Eva (never been with them), Qatar (Same as Etihad or Emirates, change at Doha) or KLM (Ive not heard good reports about this lot, change at Schipol).

If she comes to MAN, the immigration mob are far less harsh than their counterparts in London. I know Mrs Ast much preferes to come through MAN.
I aint superstitious, but I know when somethings wrong
I`ve been dragging my heels with a bitch called hope
Let the undercurrent drag me along.
