THAI Air Bangkok --> JFK direct...

    Hi,

Last May, I bought a round-trip ticket from New York's JFK to Bangkok. I flew to Bangkok in late May and have been in-country since. My return segment is for December 15, 2008. This would all be well and good, however... Thai has canceled this route. There's no more direct flight between JFK and Bangkok. I haven't heard a peep from Thai. No emails or calls or anything. As I like to leave things to the last minute, I haven't contacted them either.

It doesn't look like Thai even fly into JFK anymore, let alone direct from Bangkok. Does anybody have any experience with things of this nature? There's a Thai office down in Phuket Town, and I suppose it would be the logical place to check. I just wondered if anybody else had already dealt with a similar situation. I'm guessing they may fly me from BKK to LA, and then send me off on a Star Alliance flight into NY, but I have no idea.

    Cheers...

    Sounds about right.

Or they'll say ticket holders had four months to rebook or refund and that period has expired. Solly Charlie.

    Khun Killer,

An aquaintaince had similar circumstance. Thai flew them via other airlines into JFK. Thing is, the friends wanted a slightly different routing to a different destination point on East coast which would have been less expensive to Thai but Thai would not support. Likewise when the acquaintaince wanted to reroute to different destination than JFK and pay the difference, Thai Airways was not interested in doing anything to support escept route them to JFK. Now this is not my doing as it was the acquaintaince and I was not personally talking with Thai Airways so I suspect there might have been less total clarity to the presentation of the senerio by the acquaintaince thaen if someone more astute presented the case.

I get your drift... My final destination is actually just outside of the nation's crapital, so it would be ideal if I could get a lift down to either National or Dulles. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a no-can-do but there are buses, trains, and planes to get me that last little bit home.
