    What's with the shitty weather???

Dry season is now almost two months overdue, in fact if anything the weather is getting worse and worse giving me no choice but to tell prospective holiday makers the advice - "Don't bother coming here it's shit, go somewhere else".

I just got soaked on the way home from the gym, and my laundry which was all nice and fluffy and conditioned and 99% dry when I left is now completely sopping.

    What the fuck gives?

Last year in Nong Khai the rain started in very late August and was done by November.

This year it rained almost every day from April through early October -- more than six consecutive months. Since then it's rained every third day, including today. Bizarre.

Rains will not be stopping for another 2-3 weeks yet, the same as every year.

2 months overdue? How many rainy seasons have you enjoyed here? It's usually consistent, runs until mid-November. Your time scale would put the rain stoppage in August...wtf? August through October {traditionally} are the heaviest months. What one should really ponder is the early rains. We've been known to receiving rain before Songkran the last few seasons.....

Maybe that's what it is - the rains started early and my body clock whatsit has gotten used to the monthly rain cycles over the years and so it just seems like-oh fuck it I don't know what I'm talking about.

Look, it's been a long day.

I don't like the term Native Americans and will not use it, it sounds like they are some kind of wild animal to me and was put in place by rich white people who are constantly trying to dominate the minorities. I think if we are going to go all PC then they should be called Real Americans.

I am starting the change now. You heard it here first, Real Americans!

It'll bug the hell out of all them flag waving mcdonalds eating supersized white folks over there too. Imposters!

Exactly. Rains are the wealth. I enjoy and take in the rainy season. Kinda interesting how some might be manipulated to perceive negatively the wetness.

Doesn't bother me much at all. But I have to agree, it was all pretty cozy until the Europeans (Spanish, Portugese, French and British) came in and fucked them over royally.

A purist might find that the "natives" of said continent reject the term American. This is of European origin. So, Pre-columbian region was rich with thousands of different cultures of custom, language, spirituality, etc. What did they call it? Certainly not America. One could even suggest that this term "native" was also put upon them in a sort of Eurocentric manner. So was the philosophical ideal of a Noble Savage.

The weather isnt normal for around Nongbaulamphu area as the rainy season started late and now when it should start drying out it bloody raining non stop, Alot of the crops that they have started harvesting or about to are now under water. If it keeps raining we will lose about 30 Rai of rice but isnt such a big deal to us as we have other incomes but to most of the locals that were already looking at only 60% crop at best are now looking at losing the lot if the rain doesnt stop.
The FIL and BIL have been working day and night tring to bank up the small river that runs near our farm as people have cut the walls away to get the water to their rice early in the season and left them open which is causing problems around the area.
So yes Scampy is right in some areas this season is abnormal and has been from the start
