An Evening Wander down my Soi

My wife needed me to take a wander down the soi earlier on an errand.

not really an average soi, anyone guess what soi it is?

I tried to do it bustak style, talking to every cat and dog on the way, but their contempt is so obvious in every pic i binned them. I just can't take pics like bustak and it's annoying me.

Anyway.......First stop was the local exercise equipment shop

She kept looking at me, lust it was, I felt cheap.

At 8pm, the veg for tomorrow is delivered to the market shop, it gets crazy, my wife often goes there. luckily it wasn't my stop

Pic 4 is the Log Cabin, abound with rumours of being knocked down, but as with many rumours in Thailand, it seems to be bullshit.

Usual street food available, at first I was annoyed this guy came along to get on his bike, but i actually think the pic is better with him.

Next is the local chinese duck place. I guess with the Vegetarian thing going on business must be down, sure wasn't anyone in there.

We got it........Yeah Baby we got it.......

Singapore chicken rice, another place suffering from the Vegetarian thingy going on, all the chefs were outside watching me

    Onto the local cake shop......

Lots of wedding shops in my soi, here is the Garden of love.....vomit

One of the biggest restaurants up my end of the soi, never been there, never want to, rankly to me chinese food sucks. I'm sure it's excellent though.

    Fuck!!!

half of the thread just suddenly disappeared as I was editing.....

    I'll finish it again here

next i found this guy looking for anything of value

he was right outside this place where you can buy a nice bag for the average annual sa;lary of an isaan Rice Farmer

Here is the man who will solve his problems

I AM CONFIDENT I CAN DO IT

WHERE ARE THE PROBLEMS? I WILL GO THERE

Probably the classiest poster campaign in the history of Thai Politics

yea, Its 55 alright, 5 years since I have lived there, even in that time its changed dramatically.
So only recognize the Singapore Chicken Rice, they never did any business in a high rent area, how do they survive ?

It can be, but take your own crowd as it never seems to be very busy. They have (had) an excellent band with a cute singer.

Nice to see they fuck up French as well. Shouldn't it be "Jardin d'Amour"?

Nice Soi, Thong Lor - I live at the arse end of it.

Pic 4 was the Log Cabin pic, but it made the soi too obvious.

As it happens it was obvious to anyone who'd been there, well, apart from Ant who has been there but is so wide eyed when in the big city he becomes completely useless for anything, particularly drinking.

The Log Cabin is OK, I've only been in there once in the 3 years I have lived in Thong Lor, but it was with some good people and a fine night was enjoyed.

Sitting there alone nursing a beer would be as depressing as it is elsewhere I'd imagine.

That's a busy soi for sure. Log Cabin ok for some. As long as the band is decent. They sell Aston Martins on that Soi before. Also there is a leather bike gear shop there Dainese.

Ah yes the Ducati shop. Should have taken pics of some of the exotics for sale. Better than the Log cabin pic.

I would have but the security guys didn't look very inviting and I can't be bothered to argue with a good old traditional Thai 'cannot'

So you moved? I guess Thong Lor is much more central, that other place was at the arse end of nowhere.

Marmite if you live in my arse, maybe you should pop round for dinner one evening and give me a couple of lessons in Photoshop.
