Where can I get an accordion?

After a ten year break it's time I started squeezing again.

There's a new music instrument shop and also a used shop very close to Pantip Plaza. Just get out of the taxi in front of Pantip, and walk in the direction of the taxi you just left. It's about 3 minutes walk, and the used shop is in back.

Failing that, there is a huge number of music shops near Chinatown somewhere, I forgot where, but you can maybe get a better price there.

^ Nice one Chint, a secondhand one would be ideal. I have no idea how much I can expect to pay but no more than 5,000 would be nice.

Lucky Music - Leave Pantip and cross the road. Turn left and walk few blocks. This is a pretty high end shop for Thailand. They've got some good stuff but you get someone following you around as soon as you step foot in there. Or maybe i just look dodgy. They have a website http://www.luckymusic.co.th/ There's a 2nd hand shop in the parking lot behind. Mostly guitars and amps.

If you go back the way you came and continue walking down the street away from Pantip there's a another music shop on a corner across the road. Forget the name of this one but it's also got some decent stuff. Roland/Boss dealership from what i remember.

Chinatown - Check out this place.

    Theera Music Co., Ltd.

100-108 Soi Verng Nakornkasem, New Road
    Sumpantawongse, Bangkok 10100

This could be another branch of the one near Pantip. Can't remember. This area is the thieves market in Chinatown, there are lots of music shops around this area, mostly guitars though. Some small ones but you may find what you're looking for.

Did you ever find an accordion? I too am looking for a new or used accordion. I also play piano, but, still love the squeeze box. Please let me know what information you have.

The accordion search has been called off, he's too busy looking for a film school.

Big C Ladprao, Bangkok, lower level has a music store out in the open, not in a shop, sells many types of instruments. I just purchased a new accordion there. Name of the music store is P. R. Musical. Tel: 085-0384732 or 089-7597278. If what you want is not in stock he will order it for you or get it from another part of Bangkok for you. Speaks almost no english, use Thai.

I didn't expect this thread to bob back up to the surface.

I will check those places out when my business fails and I have to start busking on the Asoke footbridge.

The best place in Bangkok to buy musical instruments in an area called Werng in Chinatown. It's strange little place with a lot of music shops and hardware stores mixed. I have a bought a lot of instruments and mucis related stuff down there, and it's generally around 10 - 15% cheaper than the Pantip/Pratunam area.

Best to go to Chinatown and ask a taxi driver or TukTuk to take you there. If you don't know how to ask just mime banging a drum, or playing an instrument - they will take you straight there.
