    Thumbs down CD Warehouse R.I.P.

It is with great sorrow I bring you the sad news that CD Warehouse is closing it's doors at it's 3 stores in Bangkok and one in Pattaya for the last time at the end of december.

No more will you be able to buy your favourite Woody Allen film on DVD, no more will you be able to find a Hollies Cd or the Blackadder 4th box set, no longer will you be able to buy the orchestral soundtrack to your favourite movie.

Very very sad, I have no idea why the owner has decided to pack up or why the likes of HMV and Virgin Megastore have avoided Thailand like Anthrax Island yet embraced Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.

What the fuck is going on?

^^ KW, re-read the OP for Chrissakes! I'm not talking about Linkin Park CD's or DVD's of Transformers and Die Hard 4.0!

Thailand and Asia have always catered for the 'mass popularity' market be it Mang Pong or a Silom road market stall, you seem to have missed the entire point of the thread which is that CD Warehouse was a place where you could get cd's and DVD's that would otherwise only be available back home at Tower Records or HMV.

^ Maddie you try downloading from an in the sticks internet cafe full of kids playing games.

^ KW was explaining why HMV and Virgin don't come to Thailand. Too much competition from all the pirated cds/dvds.

No luck getting internet in your home yet Scamp?

Like the rest of the world right now, the economy is not good. Just look at house prices in the UK. Last month they dropped for the first time in like a million years or something.
Thailand will be heavily affected by the slowdown in America, they may not be coming out and admitting it too much but the effects are panning out right in front of you.

thanks for explaining it to him. he's a bit slow, prolly caught syphillis from a flipper whore in honky.

Scamp - the funny thing about the mass market is it provides the margins and profits to allow the shops to stock less popular items.

    business management 101,

............... actually, nah it aint 101 its feckn kindergarten.

Look Who's Talking Now is only 499 THB - most of the shelves are empty and anything worth taking has been taken.

What KW said (having been specified by Bkkmadness) would actually make sense.
