Duty Free....

I`m arriving on the 2nd December in Bangkok.
My question is this: I travel with hand luggage only.
if I buy duty free alcohol at Heathrow,to take with me,how am I going to get it onto the plane when I fly Bangkok ~ Chiang Mai,given that we`re not allowed to take liquids on board ?

If you are checked through to CM, no probs as you are still airside. If not just bung it in your case after exiting customs at Bangkok

I saw at Suvanabumpy airport that liquids, meaning booze bought from a duty free shop, they let pass provided it's in a duty free sealed bag.

I`m arriving at 3.40 pm and have`nt yet bought a ticket for my onward flight to Chiang Mai. I thought I`d book when I arrive or have a night in Bangkok.
I wanted to buy a bottle of Brandy for a mate in Chiang Mai and was a bit worried,if I stayed in Bangkok the night,they would`nt let me take it the next day.....

Just buy the brandy at Suwanapoom duty free.

Thanx for the info.....it was spot on.
As you walk down to domestic departures,there`s a small shop that sells decent alcohol.They seal the bottles so you can take it on board the plane. Was`nt exactly duty free,but still cheap.

In Australia the liquid restrictions only apply to International, domestic flights are ok. Are you saying liquid restrictions apply to all flights within Thailand?

Right, it is supposed to be like that.
Last time they did it in Bangkok for me, when I arrived Frankfurt and had to take a "domestic" (intra EU) flight, the German custom officers did not allow me to take the bottle in the sealed bag.
"Sorry sir, a bag sealed in Bangkok is not valid in the EU..."
Maybe they do the same in Bangkok.
A bag sealed in the EU is not valid in Bangkok...
