Was covered previously by CSFFan in the Temple Forum but I don't want to photo-bomb his fine thread.

I've been there a few times. Both with Western Friends, Western Relatives and Thais ... all have liked/loved the place.
When I first drove past it, I thought it looked grotesque. Really sticking out like dog balls, both from Old Sukhumvit Rd
and from the Motorway but once I was there, it was great.

Located just outside Bangkok in the Samut Prakan Province, access can be by car ... Old Sukhumvit Rd #3/Kanchanaphisek Motorway Motorway #9 and
parking is under the expressway with a free golf buggy ride there.
By public transport by BTS to Samrong (if it's open ... last time we were there, it was BTS Bearing, a stop beforehand), then
a shortish taxi ride for 10/15 mins. The BTS line will eventually run past the place.

Also the 511 Bus runs close/past the place.

Parking is under the Flyover.
I got away with the Thai price by producing my Thai Drivers License, but usual double pricing exists.
The Erawan chain also own the nearby Ancient Siam (can be seen above in the Map) and you can buy a ticket, I presumed
discounted, for both.

This Flag flies at both places
Time wise, the Elephant place can be done in 1 - 3 hours ... Ancient Siam is a longer visit and it's been a decade since I was
there.

Your perspective of the elephants constantly evolve.

The Ticker Clippers. In a pure fluke, one (or both, I forget) was doing their Driver's License Test @ the same Centre as me
earlier in the week.
Being the only Westerner (and incredibly hansum man) they remembered me and we shared a joke.

As you enter, the direct staircase and up to the translucent ceiling.
In the same style as the stained glass windows in Churches.
