    Water sports in Bangkok!

Had the adventure today of trying out knee-boarding and wake-boarding in the suburbs of Bangkok, Thailand!

The family decided to head out to Club Taco. This fairly good size lake is located at 175/1, KM 13 Bagna-Trad Rd., Moo 12, Bangplee-Yai. Look for this sign.

It is a little difficult to find the place, but well worth the effort. Follow me...

I am starting to think WTF?

Surprisingly, they do have life vests.

Where the action begins. Instead of a boat the people are pulled by a rope/pulley system around the lake. Here you can see one ski dude coming around the bend while others are waiting to take off.

A lot of 'falangs' but many Thais also come out to play and practice. The #3 Thai guy in wake-boarding uses this area for practice.

The water ramps were a blast to watch. No, I didn't try...

    More action and spills.

This is what I could have done...

Many take offs were like this.

A nice Thai temple in the background.

Ramps can be difficult for the kids...

They are starting to listen to my advice.

Maybe not! Notice the ski rope? See the problem with a landing?

Many females were out giving it their best!

Starting to listen to hillbilly's advice...

Hell of a lot of fun. While there were many adults the Club Taco staff really worked with the kids. My 9-year old daughter had a blast on the knee boards.

Club Taco is open from 1000 until late on weekends and from 1100 until closing on weekdays. Damn cheap entertainment I think! Entrance fee is 200 baht for 1 hour, 300 baht for 2 hours or 500 baht for all day. The knee-boards or windsurf boards are free, but if want you want to be jumping the ramps you have to bring your own gear.

Club Taco also has a cheap restaurant with Thai food and refreshments.

The numbers to call are 02-316-7809 or fax at 02-316-7810.

I haven't been to Club Taco yet, but I've been to the Lakeland Cable Ski in Pattaya. I completely loved it! It is a really great workout too. I was exausted each 2 hour session.
