Brutal, so fair point. Just didn't need it too often as I was happy being there and wasn't commuting.

and here I was thinking that it was people exiting centan trying to get to the uturn and then more people exiting soi 24 trying to get to the u turn - 24 comes from the north entrance to nichida

you swap from the inside lane as soon as you are past 28 and the exits from the centan carparks but only to the second outside lane until you are past the uturn

    Future Park is great.
I lived on Khlong 4 and hardly ever heard planes. The only time being was when the Air Force HQ hosted an air show on Father's Day.

As for houses, this is pretty standard of the area:

Is that an "I'm someone because I own a car" comment?

It's time you left the developing world

What's the prices like there? They've probably shot up since the bts arrived.

close - driving in these types of places is more the point - and not a moped

sitting in a taxi does not give you that perspective

Not sure why you're dribbling on about taxis, and care even less.

Is Samrong station open yet? I've been trying to find a station opening timetable down to the coast - specifically Miami Bayside at Bangpu.

The station announcements say 'this train terminates at Samrong' but nothing here is reliable.

I took a recent trip down to Bangpu and the stations look almost finished so I presume they're track testing.

That can't be right. There's a place 17 minutes from London and it's not like that at all.

The planes fly over the khlong 2 area and even then, people who are living under the flight path won't really hear much as the planes are usually just coasting in for landing.

I'm living a few kms NW of Don Muang and can only hear a faint low rumble when planes takes off. I often see them gliding in for landing but can't hear them.

It's very rare now to hear the air-force jets from the Saphan Mai base buzzing my area. And I still like hearing the occasional chopper flying overhead now and then as it gives me the opportunity to glance up at my ceiling fan and mutter...."I was sent to look for a man named Kurtz".

Aren't you talking developed world prices there though? Worth spending that money in a developed country but not in BKK.

Don't worry about that, matey. You won't be going to live in Bangkok or buy a property there.

Try buying 1 cup off coffee and sleeping/tefling in Ronalds place. The coffee is the only decent thing they can do.
