Pleasant, good music, absolutely straight and without commercial propositions in your face every 5 minutes. That said, I'm not averse to spending time with a good smile and a fit body, purely for medicinal purposes of course.
    You could try Above Eleven.

Man, we've already exceeded SP's female ass pics in only a few hours! Could be they're directing him to the PG Tips tea bags and hot water. I'm a coffee man. Black.

You should note that the Impact arena is pretty far away from downtown and a bit of a cnut to get to. Traffic gets pretty mental too so it would be best to get the sky train as close as you can then expect to pay a couple of hundred baht on a motorbike taxi as they just dont want to go there. The motorshow is decent though. Have a good one, I also recommend the Dynasty deluxe room.

BTS Morchit to Impact Arena on Chaengwattana Rd is a helluva long way to go by mc taxi.

Meter taxi from Sukhumvit using the tollway would be better. Or expressway to Din Daeng then Vipavadee-Rangsit rd and onto Chaengwattana.

I'll get a meter taxi from the hotel. Hopefully there won't be too much grief getting back.

If you want to go to Impact just hail a cab. It's not rocket surgery.

Been there: poor value, small rooms and tiny pool. Location is good if proximity to Asoke is critical. Fuck knows how it passes itself off as a 5 star gaff when it patently isn't.

I'd take the Landmark every time and approaching low season it is likely a deal can be struck. I love the swimming pool there - decent size, nice and deep, and always remains cool ( just noticed I described an old girlfriend there)

If you fancy a proper pub then go to the Pickled Liver at the bottom of Soi 7/1 near Nana BTS.

You want whores then go to any brothel nearby, its not like there is a fucking shortage.

Opted for the Adelphi Suites on Soi 8. The Pickled Liver will be visited, though there is a priority of finding somewhere showing the Man United v Sunderland game at 7.30pm.

I stayed at Adelphi suites once, checked in and walked into 'my' room and there was a naked dude on the floor doing bicycle kicks.

A good, popular restaurant serving reasonable international/Thai food in Soi 8 is Monsoon, right next to you. Bars staying open that late for footie might be problematic if not impossible.

I already mentioned it in my post, and its in the lobby of Adelphi. I Specifically stay at adelphi due to the restaurant and breakfast + wifi routers & Monsoon delivers room service in Adelphi.

Both on Soi 8 and will have your game on, assuming its not late as hell. Think they close at like 1AM.

But there are gonna be tons of places between soi 4 and 8

Indeed, I thought he was referring to a midweek game at 1930 hrs kick-off BST.
Christ, its on fucking Sunday at 1330 hrs BST, of course it'll be on everywhere. Why the fuck did he think it wouldn't be?!?

Just read your post - why is the restaurant 'badass'? I thought it quite good.

Yeah true story. Went back to reception and told them there was a naked guy in my room and if they check my booking I hadn't requested such services. She just laughed and gave me a different room.

    Badass = Quite Good.

Im a 33 year old American and thats mostly Tex-Mex Americana type food + Mexican Food with good quality ingredients. And the Thai food is great too according to the wife. Also have pasta/lasagna type foods & pizza. All good ingredients & quality.

The portions are large, extras are clearly understood. They have a house ranch sauce thats great. Turkey sandwich with bacon & apple-rasin chutney is so good.

Orders don't get all fucked up, hostesses speak english, and if they do, they will take the plate and bring a new one and comp, like they should.

Paired with a good hotel in a good location, its a winner.

Did you like the hotel? How long ago was it? They recently remodeled and the whole hotel is smoke free now.

Prices are high enough it keeps the Indians and Chinese out as well.
