I mean yeah, for around 35K, but Im totally open to being farther out.

Not trying to be ON Suk, but I mean near enough to the shit that its convenient to get there without having to make a day out of it. I want to be able to, on a whim and without planning anything, bang out to Suk and hit up some farang stuff.

No idea if this is feasible, hence this thread ya know?

I have insurance broseph the flip side being Im sure most would choose Bumrungrad (or comparable 1st rate international hospital) if insured and had access.

The other thing is that Bumrungrad is the only hospital in Thailand (that I know of - let me know if there are others) that perform the OGUK Medical that I need for work, and some oil companies keep changing their 'requirements' and adding some shit, so I end up leaving my house from out Isaan way to get stupid 911 add-ons to my medical stuff. That alone is eating a lot of 'my time' because of travel and hotels and expenses. If I was nearer there I would have a lot more 'me time' and a lot less hassle.

If you don't mind me asking, what general area do you live and how long does it take you to get to, say, bumrungrad/lower Suk? Peak times and slower times? And from your area to the airport? Trying to get an idea of 'how far out' I can be and still maintain easy accessibility to this stuff.

You won't find what you are looking for in the center. 50K minimum and you can find something up near On Nut. There are some houses up that way.If you can compromise on bedrooms or don't mind an older house you might be in luck.

35,000 won't get you that in Bangkok unless you are extremely lucky or have very low standards.

I live near a lot of things on your list but rarely go to any. Villa maybe very occasionally.
Within about 35 kilometers of where I live now we have Robinson, Makro, Tesco, Bic C, couple local (shitty) shopping centers etc... I mean its just a regular old medium sized Isaan town. Rinse and repeat for every other nameless Thai town. I always find myself needing something or having to go to Bangkok for whatever reason and its getting to the point that I fuckin HATE having to drive to BKK.

Every now and again some Thais will open a "Restaurant" and feature "Burgers" for about a week. Decent stuff. Ride out there one day craving for something other than rice, and try and order a "burger" only to find that the "Burger Restaurant" no have "burger" any longer and now offer overpriced krappow moo for 99b and I totally wasted an afternoon & end up eating rice anyway. Shits fucking aggravating.

Villa & the like is awesome to have on tap.

not sure why you think bangkok is where you really want to be - and having a dog in bkk , not the fairest of options for the furry fcuker

I can't imagine you need a medical all that often - once a year ?

why don't you look at south of bangkok - cha am or Ban chang ?

You can get a detached house with a garden for around 20-25k at the Petchaburi Road / Rama 9 end of Ekkamai. If you don't mind a shophouse then you can get one at the Rama 4 end of Soi 22 for around 15k. For 35k you can get 100m2 condo bang in the center.

This is true, but still a hassle & dangerous especially at night, and I just fuckin HATE it. Anytime I need to do something in bangkok it has to be a planned thing. Hotels. Driving anywhere from 4.5 hours to 7 if there is a fuckup on the roads one way.

Im only normally home for a month at a time as well. So theres that.

The Medical cert is good for 2 years, but the oil companies sometimes go above and beyond in their requirements. Make people do them every year or add in cardio stress tests every 6 months. More frequent blood tests etc...

There is also Falck Nutec in BKK (kinda far from lower Suk though) where I have to get all my training shit done at. About 2 months ago I had to 911 drive out to BKK to get a stupid cert for swinging on a rope that took about 2 hours and cost 10k baht, then drive back home and wait for my flights. Thats 2 full days and a hotel booking taken out of my month off.

Basically in about 4-6 weeks off I usually have to go to bangkok at least twice for something. Either for work, or the doctor, or travel.

Well, I mean I have a house now with a wall & shit. He's an inside furry fucker. Just goes out for a piss & shit then kicks it in the house. Absolutely no problem there, but if in a condo I would have to walk him on a leash to do his bathroom business and cant just kick him outside when I feel like it. This also comes in handy if I know I'm going to be gone for a while I can leave him outside, as opposed to in a condo I would feel guilty as fuck leaving the fucker inside bursting for a shit or piss.

I been looking all over, hell, even pattaya (fuck that) but everything is in BKK. If I can find a place its basically a one stop shop.

Or beyond On Nut to Bearing MRT stop at Suk 107. Should find house out there within budget. Lot's of housing estates. Straignt shot on Suk MRT line to Villa, Emporium, Bumrungrad and all sorts of other good stuff. Airport not far via taxi.

Contact an agent. Let them know area and price you're looking to rent.

Just spend a lot of time searching the Net mate.

Maybe out Samut Prachan way, BTS has reached there as well.

Exactly what i would of thought but that's wrong innit.

Another poster has told us his friends rent Houses in Sathorn for around 35 K.

Sathorn is 10-15 minutes by BTS to Sukumvit and Bum Bum hospital and Seppo Embassy.

If Slick wants good access to all Bangkok's goods stuff Slick will be hunting around Sathorn.

Why fuk off out further if Sathorn meets his price bracket. ?

Further more Slick can throw his car in the river because Bangkok's brilliant public transport will take him anywhere.

Driving in Bangkok will kill any desire to live in the City, Fuk that.

Use Public transport and it's brilliant.

    Sathorn has all that.
    Stroller is a Yerman faggot.

You're just around the corner from me. I know that we are out of the area that Slick is wanting to rent, but I think that the Klong Sam Wa/Lamlukka area isn't too bad. Since the Charoen Rat expressway has opened getting into downtown Bangkok isn't too bad so long as you aren't competing with the morning and evening rush hours. On a good day, I can be from my house to the JW Marriott in under 30 minutes.
Speak of the devil! So you're Barty.

We're on Hatarait Road, but as you say, it's not too bad getting into town. Depends on the time.

Much prefer it out here than in town. Some decent parks nearby too.

i live in a village a 10min drive away to Bearing BTS. if i want to go to suk i'll park the car at the BTS (60bht), 20mins to Mega Bang Na which has all shops, restaurants etc. JAS mall has just opened, a foodland is 10mins away on srinakarin. a villa is being built apparently. near the tollways too.

3bed house, 2bathrooms, fromt and back garden for 13k. for your budget i'd look for the villages along LaSalle (suk 105)
