A proper fokkin DJ in Bangkok

Jeremy Healy Live At CHI Ultralounge

Published on 3rd January 2016 by Stickboy BKK

Maverick, innovator, pop star, DJ, producer, musical director, bon viveur, raconteur. Itís hard to pigeonhole Jeremy Healy. For over 25 years the Peckham-born renaissance man has been at the centre of that sweet spot where music, fashion and hedonism meet and the man himself will be kicking it live at CHI Ultralounge this week.
Yes, you heard that right party people, this Thursday night you can hit Soi 13 and relive the good old Cream & Ministry of Sound days when Jeremy Healy takes to the decks in Bangkok.
And you know what? The gig is free. Yup, free entry all night long.
    Diary Ė Thursday 7th January 2016.

Right, we need a fistful of speckled doves, an ounce of super skunk and white gloves.

I have never really understood the appeal of going to see someone play records .
I can understand people wanting to go and see bands play live...........but to go and see someone who plays other peoples records on a record player..............never really understood that

A " proper DJ " is plainly an oxymoron.

Given that the denizens of clubs these days are trance driven hottentots approximating to epileptics without their medication I don't really see how it matters which skinny-arsed, tattooed oik, sporting a silly baseball cap on backwards, lays down the total shite that passes for "dance" music these days.

As a patron of the very first Glastonbury and Bath Blues festivals, and who was offered acid by Hawkwind at a gig in Cheltenham in 1972, I rather think I am qualified to judge.

Can't bear all that ape-like prancing about with the hands outstretched displaying widened fingers, as if the wrists were recently broken, coon rap stuff.

Christ, I've just played those Facetube thingies - sounds like my fucking tinnitus (a condition I developed after sitting on the floor in the front row at the aforesaid Hawkwind gig).

Used to go to miss money penny's in Manchester in the 90s and Acienda. Funny, must have been the whizz and E at the time, cost I think the music is shit now.

tried listening to Tony D'Vit whatever his name was and switched it off. Quite like Sabastien B (Bennet for modern DJs.

I hate sitting in clubs where the music is way too loud that conversation is totally impossible

I hate clubs anyway. I prefer that Irish diddly daddly music to wind down
