    Places for furniture in Bangkok?

    Hi all,

I need to quickly furnish a two bedroom condo in Bangkok this month, and I was hoping folks could recommend places to purchase nice but reasonably priced furniture and furnishings.

The condo is custom-designed, with floors, accents and custom-built-ins all made of teak in a medium to darker shade, and off-white painted or papered walls and ceilings.

Because of the built-in storage, I only need two beds (a large and a day), a dining table and chairs, a free-standing desk set and perhaps a credenza, lamps and some area rugs.

I was looking at Ikea but unfortunately I don't believe many of the styles or colors of their beds or tables will match the style of the condo. Their lamps, perhaps, would work. Plus, their prices don't seem particularly competitive for the quality of the furnishings.

In my search of this site, I saw a thread that several folks had recommended Paul's Antiques, and I intend to visit their shop this week to see what reproductions they have in stock. I contacted them for quotes, but they didn't provide any.

All that said, if anyone else has any other suggestions on where I can find ready-made furnishings, with a classic yet modern look to them, that might go with the color scheme I mentioned, I'd appreciate it very much. If there's a particular shopping center or craft market I should look at, etc...

Happy New Year to all and thank you in advance for your help!

MODERNFORM is prolly the biggest and around for decades.
They have a huge furniture shopping mall and sale the genuine designer items on 3rd floor and if you go 4th floor the copies are available locally made at 5 times less...

I googled Moderndesign furniture Thailand first and it landed my search to Alibaba page where you can find all major furniture exporters listing their stuff. most of them have a showroom somewhere around Bkk...

Checking into TIFF fair (website) is as well an option, there are countless furniture fairs in Bkk all year long displaying same crap, but TIFF is Thailand International Furniture Fair where the best and most important are exposing.

Plenty of good quality furniture and nice designs in Thailand if you select...

There is a street for wooden furniture somewhere along the Chaopraya river and few threads about this in the forum, can-t remember the name of the place...

If you want an exclusive leather sofa or 3, a friend of mine is doing great stuff, just pm me for contact

    Good luck
Monday,Tuesday, then it goes WTF !

SB Furniture and Index have outlets all around town. Ikea is great for moderately priced KD furniture and some upholstered items. Chic Republic on the Ramindra highway (riap tang duan) is really cool home furnishings department store. Right up the road from that is the Crystal Design Center, a huge open mall of furniture and home furnishings.

Thanks for the tips, good places to start. As for the offer of a leather sofa, a lovely white leather sofa is the one piece of furniture I actually DO have, but thanks I'm pretty much building around this piece that I inherited.

Was looking at mattresses at Emporium mall. 19,000 THB for a king sized Lotus non-latex foam over closed cell coils, just for a price check. Anyone have suggestions of a good place for mattresses?

Also for a television set? Seemed like the prices were comparable to U.S. prices at Emporium, but wouldn't mind hearing some other suggestions for a discount electronics source? (14,690 THB for a 39" LED, for example?)
