    Convenient Hotel

Anyone know this joint at Sukhumvit Rd, Phra Khanong? I'm looking for a three week stay in Bangkok and this was recommended.

    A review from April...

    “Awful”
    1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

Had first planned to stay for 2-3 nights but quickly changed to one night as soon as we were showed to the room. The paint on the wooden furniture was chipped, the curtains were dirty, the bed sheets had stains on them, the ac was easily 10 years old, the bathroom was dirty, the bath I daren't sit in with...

From Trip Advisor: "Geyser wasn't working in the room despite the electrician trying to fix it twice in one day"

No en suite geyser? Well, fuck that then.

It looked cheap at 1,900 baht a day, which is about 38 pounds. But then I was getting feedback from guys who had lived there long term on contract work who said it was ok then. Anybody else actually been there recently or could recommend an alternative. Thanks in advance for your help.

You have to be in Phrakanong?

2000bt a night in that area is very very expensive.

Do search for Ibis hotels In Bangkok, they have some blinding deals on Special also Novotel. Same group.

I was paying 1500 baht on the specials.

Parinda Hotel - a NEW modern-style boutique hotel on Sukhumvit, the heart of Bangkok's prime shopping, dining, and business area.

I checked out this new hotel a few weeks ago. Very nice. They had a grand opening price of 1600 baht. Cheapest room now 2,000 baht. A bit far from Phra Khanong but they have a shuttle to Nana BTS.

Checked out Marmite's recommendation The Key Soi 19. Good reviews & three week stay works out at 819 pounds which to me is good.
Thanks for all the other suggestions. Will look at them tomorrow as its knocking off time here now in Papua New Guinea.

    Dear david44, please send picture.

Norton. Checked out the Parinda and was very impressed. More expensive 2311-3868 Baht per night, but state of the art facilities, airport transport etc.

Stayed at the Federel a while ago. Good pool, basic but okay rooms.
Good for the price. Not far from Nana BTS.

    Thanks guys
I’m pretty well sized up now hotel wise on the Sukhumvit Road, from the depths of murky corridors at The Rex Hotel at 1,316 baht where one of my old colleagues used to take in his night fighters, up to the Parinda Hotel at 3,868 baht per night with “mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice.”

Ah the Rex yes with a pool in the smog, the quiet rooms at the back used to look tired in 2004 ,hope they have changed the sheets.I think at that level the worn but ok Ambassador in Soi 11 is better value at 1600 up online with many eateries and bars at your doorstep and Nana BTS a short step,Le Fenix and the real cheapo Miami at start of soi 13 are all nearby
I used to have a job at a calendar factory.
    I got the sack because
I took a couple of days off.
