High season, sadly they can sell the seats at inflated prices.

Are even Evaair that price? Direct flights.

Just checked, even they are 1,075 pounds; would've expected it to be half that cost... awful...

You buying late, I did tickets for my brother recently, 620.

Leave it late for high season and the cheaper options go fast

...because folks will continue to purchase inflated prices [for anything, actually].

    Whatever the market will bear.
Considering the market [catatonic consumers] are conditioned without any fight in them.

Could not agree more as this is 2013, but if you put your foot down there are values to be had.

Just finished reading a book "Upright, and Locked Position" (or something like that). In it , it explains in detail how airlines have totally changed their business model to stay profitable irrespective of oil prices, etc.

The basic concept is to cut down on the number of flights (lower overhead), and then charge a premium (basic supply and demand). This goes double for the holidays (high seasons).

History shows that those that can afford it, will pay whatever they have to in order to fly on medium and long-haul flights (those greater than 500 miles).

Other than take a cruise, you are pretty much screwed if you want to travel internationally.

^^I don't think it will be long before Thai are down to 1 flight a day LHR/BKK especially if they put an A380 on the route.
They cancelled a few flights a while back rumour is lack of bookings.

Your local politician would tell you that because air travel is ruining the atmosphere, a local premium has been applied at all UK airports. UK based airlines, allegedly, get this at a reduced rate.
The average man on the street will tell you that this is utter drivel and just another stealth tax.
In any event, booking as far ahead as you can manage, usually gets the best deal, but avoid school holidays, at all cost!

Fly to Hong Kong. Between Cathay and British, they have more than 7 direct flights a day.
Then buy a cheap ticket to Bangkok.

When I last booked BKK-LHR-BKK about 3 months ago, I also checked prices for reverse direction flights (LHR-BKK-LHR) with the same airlines on the same dates, and all turned out between 10-40% cheaper leaving from LHR.

Dont know if your looking direct at the Companies RR ie Thai / Eva etc

Try going via Netflights or Travelbag or West/ East travel etc.

I just got us 5 month return tickets BA direct October to March 2014 1190 everything for the 2 of us direct BA .

Hope that helps ,, ok I know were not travelling over the Xmas period but I got ours through the Travel Centre.

BTW , I agree with what KT says about Thai going down to 1 flight a day with the new 380 , price up service down , I wont be using them any more
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

This travel season of high and low - invented by the airlines and travel agencies - is nothing less of a scam...
