I often frequent a restaurant in Sukhumvit soi 33. At the moment I am at a loss to remember its name. It serves a Chinese Thai mix of dishes, very fine selection at very good value.
The soi seems to have a lot of refurbishment going on at the moment, perhaps it's on the up.

It has overpriced bars with artists names, with overpriced girls in evening dresses.

    Can be fun upon occasion.

It also has Tenderlions, wall street and the office. Good bars to watch sports in.

I like The Office for starters: something to eat, some decent beer and the fun of some coyote's coming in and dancing behind the bar, and finish off in Mojo, for some great live music fun (the dancers who nip over to The Office to do a turn come from here).
    In-between could be anything, anywhere.

Few Japanese only bars, the green parrot is not a bad bar.

The office is expensive and I've not been in Wall st since they knocked the front out and turned into a coffee shop/bar thing..

I used to 'live' in Wall Street.

Not really been there for 5 years or so.

33 isn't expensive unless you barfine a girl. 1500B is standard. A few places are still 600, like Barfly & Lookie Lookie. Never seems to be busy, but it's still a fun place to troll. If you're looking for girls, 33 has been on a slow downward spiral for the last 10 years. The Office had fabulous talent 6 years ago. Now - not so much. Mojo's is great if you want to play pool, listen to music, & watch coyotes. IMO, the farang 'hostess bars' will probably be replaced with restaurants, pubs, & music venues in the next 10. Don't know how the Japanese places are faring, but there seems to be less of them.

Keep away from the non-sports orientated bars as the drink prices are horrendous.

I mostly spend my time in The Office Bar owned by Bob and Da. He is a good bloke who has sponsored a few Teakdoor meet-up parties and his coverage of global sports has to be the best in Thailand.

Forgive me, and I am not a tight-arse cheapskate but paying 150 Baht minimum for a small glass of coke filled with ice (Lady's Drinks) is not my cup of tea and that is the norm along the soi.

All those artist named bars pad the bill and especially when your on a bender with the Renoir Bar being infamous for this.

I always thought I had done alright getting out with a 10,000 Baht bill.

Who does own the Office? As I know a woman from the kids school called Nong and she says she owns the bar with her husband Peter. I assume Bob and Peter actually own it....

As for the Soi a lot of the Artists bars are gone, Monet, gone, Renoir gone, christies gone and others.

Setanta killed my custom in this Soi, I haven't gone there to watch a game for two years, went off Tenderloins and Bistro 33, no reason to go there any more.

She told me once to visit the bar I'd have a great time.

As my wife was here I told her I don't frequent bars with prostitutes available.

    Killed the conversation.....
