    Bangkok Hotel 400baht per night

This hard to get to Bangkok hotel is down a tiny little Soi off of Amarin, this Soi is so narrow a car and bike cannot pass each other, not some where you would probably want to live, but it is quiet, ie there aint no passing traffic.

It's been a long time since I stayed in a Bangkok hotel that only costs 400baht per night, they aint that bad, they do the job, ie air-con, fridge, tv, normally would have hot water but I'm well 'ard so can manage a day or 2 without, most of the rooms are rented out to Thais on a monthly basis, obviously they don't pay those daily rates, but it's not a bad place to stay.

    Tonjan Mansion

    Soi Arun Amarin 20
    Sala Tonjan
    02 412 7029

    400 baht per night

Exterior of hotel, looks like they used good quality paint so should be nice for a few years.

Communal hallway, nice coving, stainless security grills, walls all tiled so that will help keep it nice and cool in there, not too shabby is it.

From the bed covers you can see the place is owned and run by Thais.

No toilet tank but at least it is a sit down toilet and not a squat one.

Cold water sink, above this is the air-con compressor.

    Nice flashy modern TV.

Wardrobes and entry to bathroom, the aluminum frame work and glass keep the noise of the air-cons compressor out of the main room.

I am in the market for a Bangkok hidy hole... This might suit me fine.

Kind of place that would be full of welfare junkies back home.

Would that be for the clandestine encounters with the Thailovelinks tarts ?
Sounds like DD,s hotel recommendation would be well inconspicuous

not bad, a bit out of the way though and right smack in the middle of where they direct all the floodwater to the west of the Chao Phraya I would guess

There are places within walking distance to the BTS for 500 baht a night with hot water and a flush toilet, plus cable TV which i doubt that has and cutlery, crockery microwave and toaster.

Really? Thank you for your very helpful post, I don't suppose oneday you could actaully get round to say mentioning a hotels name or address or something a bit more helpful than you have already done, just a thought.

    ^ ^ and yeah . all miserable knts .
I didn't eat there (at the one and only) dining /breakfast table either.
They even used to have a miserable Garouper (is that right?) that lived in a terracotta bowl just outside that would lunge itself out of the water if Farang got too close.
will not put up wiv the "Nanny state" so don't push it on me.

there are 2 within walking distance from Bangchak BTS that I know of.

Romance Mansion is the closest, I stayed there for 10 days while waiting to move into new house recently after reading bangyais advice. i wouldnt recommend anyone staying that long, i developed a cough. i think its the aircon units not being serviced regular, could be my 25 tabs a day habit though
It was only 500 baht a night , , 3 English channels on the TV, I say English one was that fukkin Australian network, some retards show called The Wiggles and everything else was about Aussie rules and guys in short shorts, so you might wanna get a DVD player. free WIFI. they bring you 2 bottles of water everyday as well as soap, toothbrushes, shower gel and towels. they clean and change the sheets daily. i have 18 toothbrushes now.

so here's Romance Mansion, the bed I had a huge dip in it though

its quite a nice looking buiding

Here it is on the map, theres loads of market stalls nearby and a beer garden that shows the footy on the big screen and has a french owner
    http://goo.gl/maps/m9pI7
oh i forgot to mention theres another part of the building next door which is probably where you can rent monthly, they have their own reception

    93 Building

    (sorry cant find any pics)

The other one and I would reccommend it more, but a longer walk to the BTS is 93 Building, yep on Soi 93 and just over the hump back bridge.
I stayed there a couple of years back before getting evicted... aaahhh you dont wanna know, really
Anyway same price, 500 baht a night or 5000 baht a month, but there you have everything, loads of cable channels even true sports, kettle, cutlery, crockery, microwave , fridge, old [at][at][at][at] next door who doesnt like decent music or Karaeoke, or you accidentally climbing onto his balcony pissed when you forget your keys and which is your balcony from below and telling him to get out of your room.

you can see 93 building on that same map, just beyond the khlong

i remember a big fat gargoyle who sat in that wooden bar hut just outside asking me to ring her bell all the time, there was more chance of me being able to wring the fat fukkers neck
