    ArunAmarin Lets Explore it

Nice cheap Bangkok Hotel albeit not in the tourist areas such as Soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza, this hotel is a bargain at 700baht per night, it is set on Arunamarin Road Soi 39 down a back Soi so no passing traffic and nice and quiet, also do better rates for monthly rentals, although not sure of what the electric and water charges maybe.

Bathrooms have a proper toilet, nice sink on a vanity counter and of course hot water, water pressure is good for the old bum gun and shower.

No hot water for the sink though, should really be as the price is high enough to be able to fit a proper water heater and a bit of copper pipe, oh well, not that I shall be having a shave anyway so it don't really matter.

Twin beds or double beds, probably even got singles. Room has about 8 electric outlets which we found to be just enough. Couple hidden behind one of the beds head boards also.

Fitted wardrobes and dressing table does make this into an attractive long term place for TEFLers and the like, although it maybe priced a bit too high for them.

Sadly the people running the place have the business ethics of a Soi dog with maggots up its arse, but at the present prices it is probably the best deal in Bangkok.

    Amarin Mansion,
    49/2 Soi Arunamarin 39,
    Arunamarin Road,
    Bangkoknoi,
    Bangkok 10700.

Food, Nightlife, Restaurants, Market and shops, so what has it got for entertaining the farangs in the dark side of town called Arunamarin, Soi Cowboy this is not, didn't see any bars as such, rumour has it there are 2 of them though, did see a few karaokes, not really my thing but you know they will have ladies available, and also loud off key singing, over priced warm beer with the offer of ice cubes to cool it down, yep, lets blow out the karaoke idea.

And another Karaoke on Aramin, the place must be throbbing at night.

At the end of the Soi where the hotel is and leads onto Arunamarin there are a couple of food stalls, everyday my girlfriend tries to order some food from them, everyday they don't have what she wants, quite an amazing feat as she is pretty easy going on her food and will make do with just about anything, these 2 stalls will never be making it rich, should imagine they run at a loss.

For food and markets you really want to get off of Arun Amarin Road and go down Phra Pin Klao, if your getting married then you need to stay on Amarin.

Arun Amarin Road is famous, or at least should be famous for the amount of wedding dress shops it has, more wedding dress shops in this part of Amarin than any other 2 sorts of other shops, and they are done out nice, all have nice displays showing off some of the dresses they have made, also mens suits, got to be good money in making the old wedding dresses, they only get married once, well, once in white anyway, wonder how popular cream is these days with the moral standards becoming so low

Next stop Phra Pin Klao and some food and hit the market for a night of lively entertainment, well, see what crap they got for sale anyway.

First find somewhere where you would like to sit and eat, plenty of shophouse restaurants, food stall type restaurants, and tonnes and tonnes of different foods, only thing they haven't got a great deal of is seafood, or maybe living in Jomtien I get to see seafood in vast amounts?

Our lucky host at this fine dinning establishment will have our company this evening 5 food stalls and a double unit shophouse, tv is on, I hear some Isaan music in the background, the place has just opened and they are getting everything ready.

Plenty of empty tables awaiting for the hungry hordes of customers.

A quick stop at the market to get some Isaan delicacies to go with your meal, want a fish with that Somchai?

BBQ hotdogs and fishballs, I aint eating no stinking fishballs, hotdogs sound good though, pass them along.

They have set up another seating area across the pavement, so its going to get busy tonight.

All I can say is Thank God they sell beer, pretty boring round here I should add, next stop is the market, never really buy anything at the market, when I do it's just like 5 of these, 5 of these etc and I got my clothing for the next 6 months, don't bother following the fashions so my shopping expeditions are pretty damn quick.

89baht for a nice top, girls top I might add, I spend a whooping 250baht or more on my tops, only top name brands for me.

I found the bra stall so got a photo, she also has the knicker stall next to it, I was going to take a photo of that but she was looking at me like I was some dirty pervert, funny things women, its not as though she was wearing them at the time, anyway no pics of the knickers.

Going a bit further down into Phra Pin Klao towards the Chao Phraya River we come across this major entertainment complex, 3rd floor is snooker, ground floor outside looks like the place for serious drinking and snacking, inside we got to reckon there could well be some young ladies dancing, 2nd floor your guess is as good as mine, but I am going for down and DIRTY
