    BKK Pub Run

My American chum from uni days in Japan is coming to BK for the first time, and fancy having a jolly good p!ss up... any recommmendations for a user-friendly civilised hotel-pub_run combi venue?

Not interested in whoring, but it might be amusing for him to have a brief tour of the zoo...

The Pintsman on Silom just down from Soi Convent is quite nice.

I don't like the Londoner meself...

The Pintsman is good, just got back from there... If you want a hotel/pub combo then the Holiday Inn down Silom road has a pretty good Irish pub which has a decent variety of beers and good food.

Well, what I meant was a combi of a place that's good value to stay (doesn't = cheap as chips, just comfy but secure and functional) and has decent pubs within wobbly walking distance, if such a locale exists. Somewhere you could just fly in to, and not have to faff about too much to go out straight away-ish.

    Nice plug for TFP
I guess Silom is a sensible area to go... so any sensible places to stay with sensible prices round there?
    (Maybe I should ask TFP!)

What's the name of the hotel on soi 33? That'd be a good option.

Great food and beer at the Roadhouse Bbq. The third floor is a decent oasis with one the best draft beer manifolds in town.
Eddie will set you up with a discount card.
After a good burger or some ribs the Kangaroo club is just a 5 min walk away.

For some of the best Lebanese food in town you have the Beirut restaurant on Silom. Afterwhich you can pop over to the Kiss gogo on Patpong where they never play any rap music and the girls are very pretty.
