From what I can gather a smaller community of office working Thais in that area will frequent the bar as they did at the Roadhouse spending considerable amounts of money.Originally Posted by Gerbil
Anyway, most Thais I know will get pissed on one bottle of that 10% proof Belgium beer which will make it a cheap night out.
and more for the imports. I can't remember how much I sold Old English and Strongbow for in my place - but it was in the realms of 200 plus baht a can.Originally Posted by alwarner
Yeah I've a feeling it was 175. 10 years ago mind.
I can confirm the answer is a big fat YES.Originally Posted by sabaii sabaii
Last year Sunsetter and I were down one of the pubs that TFP was running and we ordered 2 pints of Kilkenny at about 220+ baht a pint.
Both pints didn't taste right for some reason and I personally sent them back. I asked the manager behind the bar to taste the pints just to confirm and he happily swapped them to Boddingtons by taking my word for it.
That pub has had my custom ever since.
The past year I have (with mates) dropped around 35grand there on 2 nights alone (Birthday celebration and Xmas dinner this year).
Good service will give you repeat customers.
Black diamonds? I shit 'em.
Nice endorsement Maybe TFP can afford a TD banner ad.Originally Posted by Bogon

I didn't name the pub, nor do I know TFP personally. Sunsetter told me who was running it at the time.Originally Posted by Gerbil
Must admit, it was a nice plug for him thinking about it. Will try and squeeze a free pint when in the Silom area.
I had a similar experience with a former English manager of the Robin Hood. The only difference was that I had to argue with him before he would do his job and confirm that what I had in my glass was the dregs from the bottom of the Guinness keg.
Didn't I, Mr Orange (Brown... whatever)?
so what about those discount for TD members ?
It varies, they are all between 6 months and 1 1/2 years. That's the good thing about most of these beers is that they have a second fermentation in the bottle. A lot of them have sediment in them and need to be 'Rolled' before they are poured (see the Coopers ad campaign)Originally Posted by sabaii sabaii
I have a 'beer sell by date calender' that I have set up, and on each delivery the details get entered in, and the program emails me 1 month before the beer is about to expire. That way I can't forget and can stick it on special to get it out in time.
Of course. There is always a chance that the brewery fucked up.Originally Posted by sabaii sabaii

What do the bar staff look like?
I never really look at guys in that way but the waitresses are very cute.
From another thread.
Don't forget that some of them are 2-3 times stronger than your average beer. The first beer I gave to StrongArm the other night was 12% so that would get you more than doubly pissed than a crap beer.Originally Posted by sabaii sabaii
Betty Boo was in last night too and almost drank the bar dry tasting close to all the beers. That explains why he has been quiet today.
Good. I hope he becomes a regular.Originally Posted by The Fresh Prince
