MeMock and Cimboc do Melbourne.
Last weekend saw myself depart New Zealand and Cimboc depart Kalgoorlie to meet up in Melbourne to watch the Aussies to battle with the cry baby Indians at the MCG.
I arrived at Tullamarine about an hour before Cimboc did which gave me plenty of time to get through customs and meet him at the domestic terminal.
They had a sign up saying they were filming border security their that day but I couldn't see anyone so missed out on my 5 minutes of fame.
It's a small world isn't it as i sat on the plane next to a bloke who had lived in the NW of WA and knew many of the same people that I did.
Anyway - so I met with Cimboc and we jumped the skybus to our hotel accommodation which was city edge apartments on Albert Street, east Melbourne.
Quite run down, but plenty of room with a lounge room with sofa bed, separate bedroom and large kitchen. The kitchen came in handy for midnight bacon and egg sammys. Having the bathroom off the separate bedroom was going to be a pain until I told cimboc if he needed to take a slash in the night time he could just use the sink :)
So after cracking the duty free open

we thought we would go for a walk and see what we could find for dinner. Cimboc was hanging for Thai food but because i eat that at home almost every day I was hanging for some Pub grub - thankfully I won out.
There was a pub round the corner and hanging for a beer we went straight in. Looking forward to trying all these wonderful melbourne beers that we had never had before we were quite shocked to find that there was only 1 beer available. yep, just carlton draught on tap and no stubbies in the fridge!

So after finishing our average carlton draught we ended up down Smith street and considering it was a Friday night there wasn't a lot happening as this photo will testify.

We did end up at a nice pub where Cimboc ordered the steak...
