Here is lovely 20 year old Kate Bush ,wearing a nice tight cat suit and sexily strutting her stuff,
and squealing delightfully.................. ummmm
smashing !!!
Sweden 1979
^^Has Paul Rogers undergone a sex-change, Patsy?
so could be wrong here
but there doesn't seem to be a mention of
the late great
Dusty Springfield.
Maybe i mis-read the title again.
Well MR paul rodgers got in ....
Dusty is more than welcome
what are her best songs?
Son of a preacher-man .
where did our love go
shit man gotta mental block now
and i'm foked if i can remember
ad a splif a lil while ago an it's gone straight to my head
she had been entertaining us since
the early 60's when she was with the Springfields.
may be 40 years.
lil bit like what the Seekers were.
and then went solo in late 60's early 70's.
The girl is not the best yet but she could be IMO.
If any more proof were needed that PJ Harvey is the greatest female lead, at least in the last decade or more, watch this to be convinced.
Looks and sounds like a poor man's Chrissie Hynde mate.
Axl Rose.
Well that is a compliment in a round a bout way.. Chrissie Hynde was a class act, 30 years ago. In the last 15 years it's hard to find many female leads to match the vigour of those in the late 70's and early 80's. PJ Harvey sure ain't pretty, but she can sing well and play guitar, she writes her own material and she can pull it off live, I can't think of any of her contemporaries that could say the same. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a gushing PJ Harvey fan, I don't like a lot of her material, but for what she has achieved in recent times she is rather exceptional.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
Lest we forget, Vera Lynn rallied the troops with her sweet voice during the war.
God bless you mam!
She still alive you know! (94)
Chrissie Hynde sounds like a weak PJ Harvey to me.Originally Posted by Loy Toy
Everyone has their opinion and you have the right to yours but lets see how far PJ Harvey goes and where Chrissie Hynde is still going.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

So, P J Harvey continues to break new ground and receive numerous awards & accolades and Chrissy Hynde is losing her voice and is resting on the laurels of a couple of songs recorded yonks ago.
Well she's been around since the early 90's and she's starting to break new grounds?Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog
She was in Bangkok not so long ago with a group of legendary musos and apparently blew everyone away with her brilliant performance.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog
I bet Chrissie Hynde is PJ Harvey's favourite singer and musical influence and realizes she can never even hold a candle to her.
And most certainly both can never lay claim to being the "greatest female lead singer of all time" even though PJ Harvey is British.

By the way I wouldn't class British television awards as breaking new grounds.
In fact I had never heard of her before Neo posted her YouTube ditty.
Que sera sera Doris Day
