I find it interesting reading about the lives of the early blues men in the Mississippi delta
here's a short Robert Crumb garaphic novel of Charlie Pattons life
    Charlie Patton by R.Crumb

    extract
page 6 - Charlie back on the liquor and loose women

was going to complain 'where's Warren Haynes' but he's there at 41. Happy now.

unsure about the order but couldn't argue over the content, great names in that list

Khmen for slide, recommend a couple of current ones in the list - 59 Sonny Landreth and 81 Derek Trucks, search for either on YouTube

To be ranked 100 or therabouts is to be damned with faint praise. I wonder if the criteria is totally subjective?

I saw Roy Rogers on there but, no Alvin Lee
    Strange.
And BB King at no. 2?
    Possibly the order isn't relevant.

These lists are totally subjective, a better title would be "Best Known Blues Guitarists."

I reckon there have been a lot more masters of the craft that were never famous.

^ yep - good names in there but as for order, down to personal preferences - I like the sound of Hound Dog Taylor, but it is by comparison to some others very basic stuff, and probably wouldn't rate as 'technically proficient' enough to many . . .

Personally I think Clapton would be placed too high there, blues-style maybe, but for every decent tune he's put out there has been a dozen that it hurts to listen to 'Wonderful Tonight' anyone? I need a bucket.

I thought Gary Moore was a 'try-hard' and he wouldn't be in my own list. But that's just me.

I've got about 150hrs of what I suppose is my favourite music copied onto this laptop, look through and these are the blues ones that feature in the current genghis playlist

Albert Collins, Allman Brothers, Calvin Russell, Eric Clapton, Gov't Mule/Warren Haynes, Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Winter, Jonny Lang, Robin Trower, Sonny Landreth, Stevie Ray Vaughan

I had not heard of #18 Hubert Sumlin till I saw the dvd of last year's Crossroads festival; see him (seated in white hat) on this clip from the show; turns 80 this year.
