But for me the best memory is sitting in the sun in Switzerland at an open air concert and listening to Paul Simon doing a sound check- Magic.
He winked at me, or perhaps had a slight eye infection!!!

The Clash
The Damned / Dead Boys. (same bill).
Buzzcocks
Johnny Thunders - Heartbreakers
999
Generation X
Adverts
Slaughter & The Dogs
Ramones
Later memorable gigs;
Magazine
Iggy Pop
Madness
AC/DC
Ozzy Osbourne
Nirvana (x2-Reading Festival)
Killing Joke
Pixies
REM
Stone Roses
Also seen loads of bands at Glastonbury, Donington and Reading Festivals many times.
Joe hit the stage last night for a ripping 1and a half hour set. Played a few songs from his new album but mainly stuck with his well known hits.
Joe's now 66 but by fok can he still belt out the tunes when he's firing on all cylinders and his voice is so powerful.
He always picks awesome muso's to back him especially his sax player and back up ladies, last night was no exception.
I'm a big fan of Joe and always have been, such a good hearted guy and his autobiography bangs that home.
Exploited by every bastard when he was young leading him into alcoholism and bankruptcy but his voice held him through the bad years.
I recon I've seen him 10 times over the years the first being in Townsville AUS 1977. A solo tour with Bobby keys and a few punters with no female back up singers.
Joe was that pissed that he run off stage half way through and chucked up his fish and chips and Keys wasn't much better.
Basically foking crap concert but we loved it being only young punks at the time.
Next time drove from Perth to Adelaide with a mate to see him at the Thebarton town hall," 82 " if I remember correctly, He was still pissed but a tad better.
From the mid nineties until now when he got sober, all the times I've seen him the concerts have been brilliant with that voice of his blowing every one away.
Lone live Joe a true legend and inspiration to all the muso's that have hit rock bottom and aint never come back.
After this Tour is finished he goes home to his Mad Dog ranch in Colorado to see his wife, dogs, get back to growing his prize winning tomatoes and continue his charity work with the under privileged children living in the area.
If I ever get to Colorado I've always said I'm going to front up and have a cup of tea with Joe.
red hot chilli peppers hyde park was pretty good

The most bizzare concert I ever went to was when I was given free tickets to see Tina Turner at a half sold out concert at my local club in Oz.
About 200 people turned up as she had lost popularity (early 80's) and then she brought out "What's love Got to do with it" which was written by an Australian for her and based upon her turbulent marriage to Ike.
I can remember hearing her sing the song during the concert and thought it to be a toe tapper but it turned out to be her only US number 1 hit which relaunched her career.
Dame Edna is very underrated as a song writer.Originally Posted by Loy Toy

I'm not keen on concerts -so can remember them all,
from the early 1980's
Toyah,
The Polecats - small rockabilly band -do a good cover of Jeepster,
Siouxsie and the Banshees,
The Cramps .
1990-
Red hot chilli peppers
and that was the final one, 21 years ago ,
Was not so keen on the last one ,the songs seemed to sound the same , it was in San Francisco , The Grateful Dead were playing the same night ,new years eve , that was one sold out ,
both overated bands in my opinion , but perhaps the Deads concert might have been more fun ,
best famous Australian ?
Rolf Harris !! , loved his painting shows -spare me his singing though...
damm, i got his mawkishly sentimental -2 little boys -playing in my head now
no i missed one out ,a free outdoor show in a- Toronto park in 1991
The Black Crowes
was really good
Been to over 1000
bands I have seen most
The Cult - 137
Balaam And The Angel - 78
Bauhaus - 52
Siouxsie And The Banshees - 42
The Clash - 40
Hard to say who what when was the best, I think the first time I saw The Stranglers was pretty awesome, Stiff Little Fingers the third time I saw them maybe the most amazing memory, I was 14 at the time and it was in a late night club, they came on after midnight. my mother was livid.
First Time I saw Social Distortion in San Francisco is a vivid memory for the voilence that was strange as it was so Un British in it's nature..... The Ramones in Cardiff 1977 was a blur, also very violent.
The Cult in Beacon's theatre New York is a special memory as well, Guns And Roses in Sydney is one I'd love a recording of just to remind myself of the garbage the ginger one spouted that evening....
God, so many coming to mind....
How come you didn't see them in Bangkok?...he was in the band then. They were awful that night, well, the sound was, just the worst I ever remember at any gig. The band worked hard but it was a losing effort. They were even worse than when Dave Navarro was in the band and that's saying something.Originally Posted by Loy Toy
I'm sure there must be a bootleg available if you can remember the date.Originally Posted by Bobcock
I formerly spent quite a bit of time out of the country in Malaysia, Singapore and Europe and most probably wasn't around for that gig.Originally Posted by Bobcock
I did read somewhere that the sound was terrible and no band can perform under those conditions.
What year did they tour here Bob?
I think it was early 2003 or maybe late 2002.
I've looked but it's never cropped up, might you there are plenty of other nights when copperknob talks bollocks....Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

Brian Eno
ELP
Bad Company
Yes
Aerosmith
Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Sky
Elton John (the worst)

plus many more that were totally forgettable or have slipped my mind, just remembered the Sex Pistols.
