No ,, but what is the name of the movie ?
its called sex and drugs and rock and roll, andy serkis (gollum from lord of the rings) plays dury.
didnt know it had been released yet.
New Boots and Panties was one of my favourite albums of that era.
I take it he's died then ?
R.I.P. Ian Dury
^ I thought he died about 8 years ago.
Anyway he was ever so clever.
He did.
i believe it was released in the UK just after Christmas. that's certainly when I saw all the promo stuff for it.
Only saw him once, 1978, don't think I really appreciated it at the time, I was too full of The Clash and The Stranglers.
i used to go and see him at dingwalls in camden town in the late 70's, i think they were called kilburn and the high roads then.
dr feelgood from canvey island were another great live act of the same era. lee brilleaux, feelgoods lead singer also died a few years back.
There is also a superb (I hear) Film / documentary about dr Feelgood just been released in the UK.
I once had a Cortina, but never shagged a girl called Nina.
Outstanding lyricist.
Here's the trailer, i've not managed to see it yet but a few mates that have said it's good!
I sat next to him at a garden table backstage at Madstock 1992, and I went to his tribute gig at the Brixton Academy in June 2000 what had his best songs performed by the likes of Nena Cherry, Madness, Robbie Williams, Kirsty McColl and that fat cnut from Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
So there.
So what.
I was on stage with him, untill he told me to get off the fokin stage.
Aberystwyth mid 80's, I think.
New Boots & Panties is the only CD that is a permanent fixture in my car's changer.
Dury was a phenomenal talent.
