Then there is always this from one of America's peace missions..
...which serves as a great introduction to Hawkwind
Thank you Troy. I could not pull away from the video.
However, I would like to argue the fact which the video made during the final scene when the young women were walking away and a phrase was displayed across the screen that stated:
“You just listened to 3 minutes of classical music” (as seen in the screenshot replacing your video in my post).
No I didn’t. I watched a video filled with five nice looking fit/limber Asian women dancing with some background music playing. I wasn’t paying any attention to the music and who in their right mind would?
I am happy to see this Arts & Entertainment thread finally reach a second page where I believe this post of mine will be lost in the multitude of pages/posts this thread will generate over time,……as the Memorable Passages thread has by Baitong (I’m not playing with a full deck) Boy. Another astounding thread here at TD.
Good luck with it.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Has anyone posted Pachabel and Canon yet? Nevermind, listen to this
Wife loved Vienna. Can't have a Classical thread without a Waltz...
One of many lovely violin and piano duets from Beethoven....
Guess who's going to Verona to see this in August......
Enough headbanging , time to chill
And for when you and she is feeling romantic and you have dimmed the lights and sprinkled rose petals on the bed or frangipani whatever, you got 27 minutes to show her you love her , 7 minutes for sex and 20 minutes to nip downstairs and make a cup of tea for you both.
Brilliant Video this .
What would Monty Python be without a bit of classical music?
...and what would the Lone Ranger be without Rossini?
...and I suppose those who do not like modern classical music can always turn the sound off when they are watching Clint Eastwood..
...and John Williams has a huge following
but then I suppose you could always turn the sound off.
Yep...
I often think that if Mozart had mastered the oboe earlier we might have had more music like this:
Jasmine Choi giving her flute a decent blow.......
...Stanley Kubrick, who was a big fan of Ligeti.and I suppose those who do not like modern classical music can always turn the sound off when they are watching...
I've been listening to a bit of Morton Feldman recently
and La Monte Young
Another wonder

Sorry...couldn't resist...
Some Dvorak keyboard bashing that I promised earlier.....
If you insist...
I remember turning up to the Barbican on 1st January, 2001 for their New Year's Day gala. There was no mention of this anywhere on the programme, but once everyone was seated and without introduction we were treated to this as the opening piece. As the conductor rightly said, it was the only work that HAD to be performed on that particular day.

I see fish. They are everywhere. They don't know they are fish.
Liszt Piano Concerto No. 1 with Lang Lang doing the honours at the piano....
One of the more famous organ works:
No recording can do justice to this; it has to be heard live.
Here we have a marvellous concerto composed for the the town of Aranjuez in Spain:
Now listen to the awful music on this promotional video for the town:
ffs
