    Led Zeppelin unleash unheard recordings

Legendary rock group Led Zeppelin have released two previously unheard recordings ahead of the reissue of the band's first three albums in June.

The two tracks - blues classic Keys to the Highway, recorded in 1970, and an early version of the famous song Whole Lotta Love - are among dozens of tracks which the band will officially release alongside the reissues.

The band broke up in 1980 following the death of drummer John Bonham (second from right)

The companion discs will feature alternative versions of songs, works in progress and live performances, all recorded at the time of the original albums.

The tracks, like hundreds of others, had been carefully catalogued but then locked away in the the band's archive for decades.

Guitarist Jimmy Page, 70, has spent two-and-a-half years combing through the vaults, listening to hundreds of quarter-inch tapes before choosing the best material.

    more and a sample..............

Old Plant was obsessed with Elvis I'll bet there is at least 1 Elvis song in the mix and with a bit of luck some Yardbirds tunes.
I've got a bootleg could be "how the west was won" and most of it is belting out Elvis tunes.

Okay, KISS did have ONE single disco song called "I was Made for Loving You" off the Dynasty album.

The studio version was pretty hard core disco. Still, you can go into any go-go bar here in Thailand and hear it on their playlist even today! So the song has staying power I guess..
    The "live version" is pretty rock-n-roll;

BTW: that video has the longest "wire fly" Paul Stanley ever did in a concert.

Nowadays they tune the song down a full step because Paul just can't hit the high notes like before, mostly now he's just speaking the lyrics. Still as a live song it's not bad (for KISS)!

In other news; of the many, many go-go gurls I've had to the house over the years; everyone single one of them knew the song when I played the video. Yet not a one, knew it was KISS who sang it. That is pathetic!
"Whoever said `Money can`t buy you love or joy` obviously was not making enough money." <- quote by Gene $immon$ of the rock group KISS

KISS doing a Zepplin cover is abut as welcome and flattering as Devo covering Wagners Ritt der Walküren......

^ I kept quiet as that was so bad it was embarrassing.

Without wanting to derail a Zep thread, Kiss have ONLY produced ONE half decent song and that was Creatures of the Night, the rest can only be described as mediocre.

A decent stage show live but scratch beneath the surface and they are musically lacking in every department.

    ^ Marketing mate.

If you are 'Bobby Basic Musicians' then you need a pull to stand out from the crowd.

Can we not get back to Led Zep please?

I find it quite insulting that Kiss and Led Zepplin are mentioned on the same thread.

I also know that Jimmy Page was talking about this project when having a few beers at the Tahitian Queen Bar in Pattaya when he was last here.
