My favourite band is, perhaps, Skunk Anansie. Here they are with Pavarotti:

Do you know any other rockers that can stand their ground (nearly...) with a classical heavyweight? Skin is superb, imho.

Here's another:

I can't actually find the clip I'm after, but this will give you an idea - I went to Wembley (arena) to watch ELO2 around 90ish and they had a full 100 piece Russian orchestra, they both did sets then they joined for a few songs and it was fukin great... 'wecome to the human race...'

What can you offer?

+1. I used to love that track on the "Live Bursting Out" album, I reckon Martin Barre is very under-rated.

This was a bit of a fuck up at the time.
The album was very difficult to listen to.
The amalgamation didn't work for either party.

But subsequent (see above) pieces didn't either.

Rick Wakemans (first) effort threw in narrative as well, and the whole piece worked untill the cack lyrics kicked in - could have been written by ALWebber and his auto-cue cards.

Your original post makes me despair of my investment in audio equipment, colour TV and Fat Greek phrase books (free with opera glasses).

The ELO , upon reflection, were probably the most inventive band of the seventies with the initials E and L in their name.

Here is a little ditty from another band with E and L in their name.
Palmer was the third.
