Yeah, but hang on a minute -
He was the one collecting the "memorabilia". Last I heard it was not compulsory. It does not imply (strictly) that he was a nazi (in spirit at least), but it does imply a degree of fascination with that ideology or period in history.
I can't think of why some one would want to collect that stuff for any other reason.
