Heck take the weekend off and some guy puts cock, money and Harley together.
I was just asking about Harley. No reference was made about bank account balances.
I have ridden plenty of bikes over the years. Just curious about Harleys as I intend to go back to riding street and wanted something that will keep speed down. As Harley has plenty of charactor should be one of the viable options to explore. Yes they are not cheap, but they do hold their value better than others.
Hence I asked about them.
Only to have a Vulcan warrier attack me about 2 coins and baseless opinions. Which I didn't make any.
Well many times those three do go togetherOriginally Posted by Travelmate

^ Thanks Rigger.
You use to own a Harley.
What your opinion on them?
Still do as the Buell engine is a sporty engine.Originally Posted by Travelmate

Cost, No Good Harley dealers in N/E Thailand
Go for it I recond, I am looking at selling off the TLR and the Shadow 1100 to buy a track bike before I kill my self on the Thai roads

Well there is an official dealer here in Bangkok. Looks to be very good as well. But still I like to work on my own bike. So no probs there.Originally Posted by Rigger
That what I said three years ago and went track only. Loved every minute of it. Now got the inkling to ride street, but figure on something steady to go with the flow, rather than ahead of it.Originally Posted by Rigger
Plus this would give me the incentive to see Thailand in all it glory.
I am currently thinking "Softtail Harleys" or "Dyna" just not sure at the moment.
Any recommendation on the model of Harley?
I would prefur a softail if I had the choice, but each to their ownOriginally Posted by Travelmate

Softail is what I prefer. But by judging the prices at the official Harley dealer.Originally Posted by Rigger
It is kinda pricey.
It looks as though I will have to hunt for a decent second hand unit.
At least Harley owners tend to look after the bikes rather well.
How much are you going to spend ? should be alot cause I heard you was a rich barsted![]()

Don't know how much. Depends on the asking price.
Had look around. Some seem to be in the half million. Which hurts alot, as you get a very good litre track weapon for that price.
Were any of you blokes riding round the Chiang Kong area today. We had a mob of about 30 bikes pass us. Many falang I think. Wide range of bikes. Just wondering like.

Nope, You are aware that Chiang Mai bike week has started?
Perhaps you can offer them your chickens....
For some thing decent you will need to spend 600 to 800KOriginally Posted by Travelmate
Done already, Blackbird and dirtbike sold. Pick up purchase planned and Im on the sniff for a cheap zx9 to get into trackdays.Originally Posted by Rigger

Ride SLOWER, just because your bike can do 0-60MPH in less than 1 second, doesn't mean you have to:

Any Harley pretty much has "poser" written all over it. Doubly so if you wear any black leather clothes riding it to the pub.
This goes triple here in Thailand where the freaking piles of American garbage cost twice what they do in the USA.
Anytime I see a Harley I laugh because 9 times out of 10 the riders are clueless bozos who ride maybe 200 miles a month when their feeling frisky.
And what do you call those stupid looking little half helmets those guys wear? A bicycle helmet looks better and offers more protection!
Travelmate you want a cool bike check out this honda XLV750R It's one solid and unusual machine. If I didn't already have a big bike I'd buy it.

I just bought this beauty in the USA:

earl you sound like a typical bmer rider, as extremist in your views as the tossers who ride harleys, as for the 'beauty ' you just purchased i would call that an oxymoron and its ferkin red!
Well, I'll just kill myself alone, since all of you have sold or planning to sell your sports-bikes....![]()

Indeed the things a 297 kilo pig. It's bulletproof too.
Perfect for a trip around the USA next spring/summer.
The price was right too, they don't hold any value to speak of.
not really

But the leather leash might give you away!
look at this guy ride an st1100!

Why the ZX9? They are great as sport tourers. But it is a bit on the heavy side for track work. Believe me you will be totally shattered after five laps. Try looking at 2003 R1. They make great trackbike, parts easy to source and race fairings are readily available.Originally Posted by Spin
Even better buy Dalton bike. As there are plenty of race fairings and parts for ole'gixxer.
