An excellent column by Victor Davis Hanson on The End of Journalism.
Here's a teaser:
The media has succeeded in shielding Barack Obama from journalistic scrutiny. It thereby irrevocably destroyed its own reputation and forfeited the trust that generations of others had so carefully acquired. And it will never again be trusted to offer candid and nonpartisan coverage of presidential candidates.
Worse still, the suicide of both print and electronic journalism has ensured that, should Barack Obama be elected president, the public will only then learn what they should have known far earlier about their commander-in-chief — but in circumstances and from sources they may well regret.
A Deplorable Bitter Clinger

^ Well-written article, Boon. Thanks. If only the lefty deers in the headlight could see.
all this hand wringing over communists/socialists/marxists is very amusing.Like we should take the word of commies.

How Obama Got Elected
From the same page:
Zogby Poll
512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points
97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates
Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions
57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).
And yet.....
Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)
^ It's not "How Obama Got Elected."
Ignorance in the US has always existed. These studies are nothing new. Partisanship and ignorance don't show a correlation, IMO.

Zogby Engages in Apparent Push Polling for Right-Wing Website
The conservative website HowObamaGotElected.com reports that it has commissioned Zogby International to conduct a poll of 512 Barack Obama voters as part of what can best be described as a viral marketing effort to discredit the intelligence of Obama supporters.
The website, created by former radio talk show host John Ziegler to promote a forthcoming documentary, features a YouTube clip of interviews with 12 Obama voters who "were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience". The clip portrays the Obama supporters as giving "incorrect" answers to political questions such as "which candidate said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket". Of the 12 Obama supporters interviewed for the clip, 7 (58%) are black; nationwide, about 23% of Obama supporters were black according to the national exit poll.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

If the US news media is purported to be overwhelmed by a liberal bias, how is it that the establishment convention has such a stronghold across the board? Do some deepened research and check who owns and controls the supposed commercial liberal media. It might suprise you. Alternatively, one does not have to spend too much time imbibing the establishment press, be it liberal or conservative - because there is such a wealth of different types of info and resorces available, it would stagger the mind. How this OP title should have read was: Does the mainstream commercial US media have a liberal bias? That might narrow the specifics down a tad. There is more media {per se} available than just the mainstream pablum.

^^ True, MM, but this shows the other side of the coin, as the press only showed the "stupidity" of the GOP supporters (except for Howard Stern who was the only personality to interview blacks in Harlem, most of whom approved Palin and thought she was Obaa's running mate at that time).
Another leftie site. What, Lambeth, you think he's going to video all 512 folks being stupid? The stats I gave were for all 512, not just the 12 sited from your website. Libbies twisting stats again.
Don't matter, these sheep will get their awakening soon enough.

As everyone with a fraction of common sense knew already, of course Obama voters are stupid, otherwise they would not have voted for him.
That's a fact, the scientific poll clearly shows this.
But the leftists are suppressing the publication of scientific data, this will not be reported by the main stream media. The truth can only be found on right-wing blogs these days, everything else is partisan liberal propaganda.

^ You forgot to add the sarcastic smiley for the libbies, Spiff.
True, Jet.
Those who casually but frequently follow politics, economic, foreign affairs, and current events are understandably, more informed than those that don't.
I think we going to the topic of the:
Low-Info Voter
Dummy Voter
Low-Info voters don't follow issues very much, but they do consistently vote. They can learn and educate themselves on issues during campaigns, but they don't get too deep. That's why candidates appear on Jay Leno, Dave Letterman and interview with People magazine. An attempt to get likeability.
The Dummy vote is for people that really don't know much at all, and these people will vote under certain circumstances (such as Obama's energetic and popular campaign, or voting in a knee-jerk response to 9/11).
............

So MM, you're saying that a great percentage of the American populous are.....how would you say - lightly catatonic?
> back taxes, is not a union member, and his first name is not Joe. Hey, if the guy was a libbie, it would be totally opposite.<
he's not a plumber & is not buying a company
& was a regular call-in on right wing radio .. he was a shill
a riot that all the republicans had was sarah & joe
both totally over their heads.
& both with new book deals in the works
as long as there are tests, there will be prayers in public schools.
US political pondering: what % of CO2 deniers are also birthers who believe kangaroos walked to the ark

^ Sadly true, MM.
A research group rang me the other day (I had answered Qs in a phone poll about our federal election awhile back) and they wanted me to participate in a political debate for $100. Debate on what, I asked. Provincial election issues. I declined as I'm not up to date on the issues. Oh, that doesn't matter, the dork said. Get a grip, buddy! I couldn't believe it. Maybe I should have asked for the list of Qs so I could check stuff for myself, but basically a waste of other debaters' time. Possibly a setup by one party to use ill-informed voters to plow through their party proposals. Whatever. I'm getting up to speed on some issues, but frankly don't see the province turning near-right anytime soon. The NDP (near socialist) look to be favourites; short-term memory voters here as this party wasted so much and fekedup so much in their last tenure. But, this is a union-strong province, gods save their souls and businesses' pocketbooks.
I just scanned an Op-Ed article claiming Zogby's poll for Hannity was a Push-poll.
Could be bias in the poll. (Irrelevant now, though.)

What does that mean -- push-poll?

Are you trying to be ironic or have you still not had second thoughts on what you so enthusiastically copy/pasted?
A push-poll is designed and conducted towards a desired outcome.
Just call it a 'poll' or 'research' and it will be accepted and defended by many who lack critical thinking skills or also have a partisan interest - know what I mean? lol

^ Oh, like what the libbie press has done throughout the Obama campaign? Sorry, I do like to think for meself. The guy asked Qs about both Bo and the McC tickets and about Dems. True, I wouldn't expect many folks to know what Barney Franks does, but still a fair Q, IMO.
Now, let's check this Obama "change" machine.
Emmanuel, WH chief of staff -- Clinton campaign guy
Holder, mebbe AG -- Clinton's dep AG who let Rich get off
Hilly, poss secy state -- Mrs Clinton herself
Craig, mebbe chief counsel -- Clinton lawyer
Gee, it looks like the Clintons (I always hear The Simspons theme song when I say that) got in after all.
Hopefully BO will dispel the rumours and make his own choices. Else he's still run by Hilly & Bill and the party, not by what he spouts as his hope and change drivel. I won't hope for any vetoes on libbie bills with him at the helm.

Is Fox News liberal?

^ No. Fair and balanced.

R U mean FAB!
